How long does the package stay at the NBC?

We had an INFOPASS appointment at our local office about 2 weeks ago. Its been over six months for our AOS and we were wondering what was happening. Although Honolulu's district office says Feb 13, 2005 for processessing dates---everyone I know has gone through there in 4-6 months. Also, I expected the case to be in Honolulu already. However, the case is still at NBC or wherever the Lockbox sends it. The computer says they have requested the file....I assume that's the envelope turned in at POE. SO is it too early to request action on my case--by writing a letter or whatever. I feel we have fallen into a black hole on someone's desk. Or do I just wait it a little longer?

Unfortunately I don't know the answer to this, but prodding them certainly couldn't hurt. Being proactive is always beneficial and the worst you're likely to see is 'no'. You might also contact your congressperson's office for help.

By the way your signature says 3005. You received your EAD a millennium from now?

I agree..it never hurts to inquire. We had to(we never received our AOS NOA's)and the Congressman's office was extremely helpful to us. That said and while it may not hurt anything to ask, I really wouldn't be worried yet. I WELL remember the anxious wating, but if your service center is showing longer than your time, they may have just slowed up some. We were pretty on schedule(ahead of what the site showed) and went through at about the same rate as others in our area, but you could be just about to receive a letter, or as I said, they may have just slowed a tiny bit. I wouldn't be too concerned yet...but anxious, I'm sure! Best wishes!!! M.
