I did read the guides

and print them out

and underlined them

Its just ... I want to do this right

I wouldnt be able to live with myself if I would have been able to prevent a fatal mistake

Also al lot of the questions I asked have been answered, but the answered were as suspected contradictory with things that i already read diffrently somewhere else.

When it comes to the Q18 part

Arent you supposed to let them know how weve met over the past 2 years ??

Thats what I did, didnt I ?

The question you are responding to is "Describe the circumstances under which you have met. " No where does it say describe how you have met over the past two years and how your relationship has progressed... you are adding words to the statement that are not there....

You certainly can supply what you wrote... it isn't a deal killer but it is beyond the required.

YMMV

Certainly petitioners have submitted full evolution of relationship statements with their petitions. Some have been asked for them to overcome an initial denial based on lack of bona fide relationship evidence. However, once you've answered "yes" to number 18 the applicable instructions for your case are.

Describe the circumstances under which you met.

Because you were introduced in person by a friend, the rest doesn't apply to you. You must indicate and give evidence of a later meeting than the first, only because your first meeting was more than two years ago.

As for what you've read elsewhere, I can't address that without specifics except to say it is important to use the most literal interpretation of the instructions you possibly can and then quote accurately, without conjecture. The size of the text box provide for #18 is not "random". I'd vactor that in, if I were you.

A Warning to Green Card Holders About Voting

oooooOK...

So that sounds positive... im still a little insecure about it, but I guess that will fade.

Although digging into the positivity of this information I did come to wonder the following :

I have to go to another interview after I got married.

This time with my SO.

Thats where you need need need the money thing to be in order.

Thats where you pay most money to date.

But does that mean that they can still deny me after I get my K1 and my money and my wedding in order ??

What kind of interview is it ?

Is it with bulldog officers that want you gone, like the kind you would get if you would enter as a tourist and then marry and stay ?

Or are they just nice people who are part of a formality ??

By the time you have the interview after you're here and married, the interview you will have is to adjust your status from K1 visa holder (a bit more complex than that, but lets keep it in simple terms for now!) to 'legal permanent resident', after which you would receive a green card (assuming you are approved!). This is commonly known as AOS, or adjustment of status (see the forum here on VJ dedicated to the AOS process).

You *could* be denied the green card at that interview - but it'd have to be for a darn good reason, and one that would likely not happen if you research that process as much as you have this one! The interview would be conducted at the local USCIS office (whichever one is closest to where you'll be living). They are generally not bulldogs, but I suppose that depends on who it is, what kind of day they're having, etc and so on. (As with most of this process, there are no guarantees about that.)

Or you may not get interviewed at all for the green card. Many folks are approved for their green cards without interview.

Im glad to reach a point in this thread where I can say :

No further questions.

For now :)

Im currently crossing my fingers and praying for a job interview my SO was recommended for.

Although she's having trouble with time and getting her resume up to date, and she seemed to have improved her physique to the point where she doesnt have an appropriate business suit.... so im hoping for that to go well, because then we have that base covered too (more then enough income for all upcoming forms i mean)

And I have great news : I sold my piano, so that just gained me a nice €850,-

Which according to the internet is about $1150

ergo :

we now have the money for it as well

Time for a beer,

who will join me in the celebration ??

*note im not an alcoholic... im an occassional drinker, and its already 10pm :P *

oh and btw

this is what caused my confusion :

18. Has your fiancé(e) met and seen you within the two-year period immediately receding the filing of this petition?

Sure, but that is a YES/NO question answered by check marking the appropriate box.

You will be best served if you learn to do the following..... READ VERY CAREFULLY. Don't add, don't subtract from what is being asked. Don't try to anticipate the reason why they might be asking a particular question. Answer accurately only what is being asked, nothing more, nothing less.

YMMV

Im a little over fanatic i guess....

I just want this to work out

Its a pet peeve of mine to be misunderstood.

So Ive made it my life's goal to avoid those situations ...

Id be the boy in class, who whenever someone did something and they were looking for the one who did it, I'd get scared they'd think I did it, and because of that I'd turn red, and a lot of times that made them think I did it....

Sorry for any inconvenience you guys...

Ill lay low for a little while ...

OK

The package is assembled and FedEx will pick it up this afternoon to arrive in the States tomorrow.

I assembled it here in Netherlands and she will sign everything and then send it out to the USCIS

Where do I write the "I-129F ORIGINAL SUBMISSION"

on the enveloppe ??

Please answer me soon...

FedEx will be here in only hours.

Maybe on the bottom left corner in RED...?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Here's hoping you gave FedEx a street address instead of a PO Box.

I gave the enveloppe a P.O.BOX

BUT

the package is only crossing the ocean from me to my fiancee in the USA

There she will sign what she needs to sign

and send it out

If the address on the enveloppe turns out to be wrong according to you guys

theres room to change it

Although it is the same address they state on the USCIS website

And its also on the letter of intent and the cover letter

does that mean EVERYTHING needs to be replaced again ??

:help:
