NEED I-864 help... joint sponsor

I'm currently a medical student, and have had no income for the last 2 years...

I live with my father, and he will be my joint sponsor.

Exactly what forms do I need to fill out and send when my I-864 packet comes?

since you live together, i believe you do a I-864 and he does a I-864a. I'm not sure though.

I would say that you are the sponsor so you need to sign a I-864, and your father as joint sponsor needs to file the same form too. You'll always be the main sponsor even if with no income.

Endless is right: you are the primary sponsor, and need to fill your own I-864. Your dad will file another I-864 and I believe an I-864A if he is using income from other people in his household to qualify.

so let me get this straight...

On the I-864 form itself... what boxes do I check if my father will be a joint sponsor?

as of now here is what I'm looking to do:

1) I-864 form for myself

2) Dad fills out I-864 for himself

3) Dad also fills out I-864A

Can anyone else chime in and help out? Is this all I need?

No your dad does not fill out the I-864A only the I-864 as joint sponsor. You mark a (i am the petitioner) your dad d (he is the only joint sponsor). In your case that's how I would do it.
