I have a pepper mill bought right here in the USA that contains a mix of black, white, red and green peppercorns (delicious!). I think we bought it at a natural foods store but I've seen similar at Wallyworld too.

One thing I've noticed with more 'exotic' items in Walmart is that stores even in a local area have quite wide variations in terms of what they carry. There are 3 Wallyworld stores within about 10 miles of us and each of them has at least a couple of things we like that we can't get at any of the others

i am a bit of a chef and need ground white pepper for making sauces but now that you mention it i don't think i've even seen the mixed peppercorns here either! we do live in ms though, we don't even have shoes here.

i find we have to go to all the different supermarkets here before we can find most of the things we need and out of state for brit related items. :(

someone needs to open a huge hyper market, one that rivals walmart and sells all the stuff you need!

We have those mixed pepper grinders here in Albuquerque. I have seen them at whole food markets and another store called the the Talin market. I have been very impressed by both of these stores, especially the Talin maket because they have lots of asian spices. I know its about British food stores, but what can I say "I'm British" and love curries!!! :)

Good job I brought a big jar over then. ;)

And thank goodness my family will send me stuff when I need it. They're going to have a big list of stuff to bring when they come over for my wedding. :)

Pat and I talked about rellies can't come over without our grocery order. When she was here last we spent the better part of one day looking for curry paste.. never found it.

I have white pepper in my cabinet. It's a McCormick brand which is a common brand sold in US grocery stores.

I've just been into Taste of Britain in Norcross GA and they had packs of ground white pepper on the shelf. If I had my camera with me, I'd have taken a photo for you for proof of it's existence . My wife says it's nothing rare and she's seen it in stores around here so maybe it's just a matter of finding a store that has it?

Incidentally, I got Trebor Extra Strong Mints :D and Heinz Cream of Tomato :D :D :D
