Joint bank statements

I'm wondering about evidence to bring to the AOS interview. I am an joint account holder with my husband with BoA, however, the ONLY thing in my name is my debit card! Our statements are only ever addressed to him. How can we prove that we have this account as a joint account if my name is not on anything???

Make copies of both the cards? That's what I did, they accepted it as evidence. Though you might want to call BofA and see why only his name appears on your statements, when we were with BofA they were addressed to both of us. With Achieva (credit union) they address it to me, but show on the statement "With (his name)". BofA probably has no better reason than they suck as a bank, but try to see if they can change it.

Maybe contacting the bank to ask for a letter stating that both of you are on this account? Just a thought.

Since the USCIS like to see a year worth of joint account statements (although I don't know if anyone sends in a years worth or just a few months of statements) I did both. I got the letter stating we have a joint account & when it was opened which covered the statements that only my wife (USC) was listed without my name, and I also got my name put on any future statements and BoA were okay with both requests and did both very quickly.

I still have another few months before I need to apply for removal of conditions but I'm just working ahead :-)

Thanks for all the suggestions I guess either me or Jamals going to call or go into BoA tomoro and request for my name to be on our statements. We didnt actually have any paperwork when I was added. Jamal already had the account before I got there, we just went into BoA and sat down with a lady who did everything on the computer. I guess I just assumed that as I was now a joint account holder, my name would be on the statement also. That automatically happens in the UK!!

mm, strange.. you didn't have to sign anything??

when we went to add my name to hubby's account, hubby and I had to sign some papers and they gave us copies of the papers....

We didn't get copies of our paperwork either. I think what I am going to do (if I get an interview) is have the bank write a letter and also photocopy our bank cards. We do all of our banking online so we don't have statements. As long as you have other evidence supporting your relationship, I think it will be fine! Good luck!

we do all our banking online too and we have an option of printing off the statements online.... which is what I did...

We had exactly one bank statement and weren't questioned...but our IO didn't even look at our paperwork, just put it in the file.

Well I called them myself and it seems that 100% on the account as a joint holder - so they advised they will now change it so that the statements come to both of us! I dont know why they didnt do it in the 1st place! I didnt realise you had to ask them to do it! lol!

Do you checks have both your names on them? If not, would it make sense to order new checks with both of your names?

Do you have the original document adding you to the account? Bring anything and everything that has both your names on it, including junk mail and envelopes of mail that came in both your names. Get friends and family to mail you both cards and stuff too addressed to both of you.

When I asked our friends and family to write letters for my interview, I also asked them to address the envelope to both of us and mail it to us. I used the envelopes themselves also as "evidence".
