We got our NOA2 on June 20 and still the NVC says, we have no record of your case number. Who should I call or is this part of the backlog? I don't mind it so terrible, we have many things to ready for the interview and so on, but I would like to know if this is an indication of a problem.

Anyone?

I would contact USCIS to confirm when your case was sent to the NVC. I have heard an instance where a case was "misplaced" and required manual intervention to push it towards the NVC.

Yeah, Bobbie, I, too, think there is a problem.

Call USCIS and tell them that the NVC has no record of the case and ask them what they are going to do about it. Do not accept it if they say that you should wait some more. Two months is plenty waiting already when the normal transfer time between USCIS and NVC is more like two weeks, tops.

In addition, however, send USCIS a certified letter explaining the situation. You must create a paper trail to protect your rights. In the letter, include a copy (not the original) of the NOA2 that informed you that USCIS was done with your petition and had forwarded it to the NVC. If your problem can be resolved with the phone call, no harm will be done by this letter; but if it cannot, you need this letter later on to prove that you had informed USCIS and that they were obligated to investigate the problem.

Good luck.

Hi Bobbie,

i think we do have same approval date i was approved last June 20 of this year too and am K1 also.. then i had to wait more than one month before my paper arrived in NVC, i think u have to call USCIS and ask wer ur case now.. Coz thats what i did.. I been calling the USCIS, and told me after 60 days and my case is not in NVC yet again call the USCIS, but in my case i didnt have to do that coz few days before 60 days finally my papers arrived in NVC.. I think calling USCIS will help also.. Goodluck...

Give the NVC about a month to generate your case number, check the automated system this Tuesday and if there's no update then I'd also encourage you to start a paper trail and write a letter to USCIS.

Good luck and keep us updated! :)
