Hi Everyone,

Myself and chris just received interview date in 2 weeks for sept 5. I have just copied over our conversations from messenger for the past 10 months and it turns out to be 723 pages long.

Should i print these on paper or do you think the consulate will accept the conversations on disc. i guess this will be a good form of evidence, dont you think?

thanks , mary lou

I would definitely try to scale that down. 700+ pages is a bit much. Have you considered just taking evidence from each month that you've been together (or, just filling in the gaps of your relationship with what evidence that you have)?

If you want to carry in 700+ pages of e-mails, feel free. I took a bunch of e-mails from each week and printed them out, instead of giving the entire transcript...

Putting them on disc is not a good idea, as they probably won't let you in with a disc, and if they did, I highly doubt they woul dallow you to use a computer to display it.

i would use the printed im logs not a disc. but, 723 pages is a bit much i think. i'd go w/ 1 or 2 chats a month, some snail mail (letters, cards, etc.) & phone records if you can get them.

Definite, overkill. a log of dates and times and a printout of a couple actual chat sessions a month will do quite nicely.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

After I went back to the Lagos Consulate with more proof of relatiionship i had 500 IM chat from june 2006 untill august 2007 more 2000 pieces of telephone bills from june 2006 untill july 2007..I will advice to go with all of the 723 pages. No evidence of relationship is too much and please dont ever think of copying it on a disc because the CO would not have the time to play the disc....I hope this piece of advice will help.

Best Wishes,

Jamil

yeah. I have like 700+ chats but I just printed 2 for each month. I have no phone records since we always talk via yahoo chat with microphones, and they approved me.

We will be interviewing in Lagos, Nigeria and I can tell you that I will be printing EVERYTHING mostly because they can be pretty tough in Nigeria but I agree with the member that posted above that said no proof of relationship is too much. Wouldn't it suck to come this far and then be denied because the person conducting the interview decided you didn't have enough proof. Not a chance I'm willing to take!

Best of luck with the interview!

I might be wrong, but perhaps Canada will not require as high a level of proof as Nigeria/Lagos.

I think 723 printed pages of email may be a lot more than you need.

We didn't have chat logs, but we had emails that my husband took with him. He took about 2 per month up until the last time I visited. After I visited before the interview he took about one a week just to show that we had an ongoing relationship.

Good luck!

Congratulations Sutton!! Ask them for a week later and we can go together

I just printed off a few emails, ones that talk about what are plans are and such. In the latest reviews it seemed they didn't really even check the evidence......I printed off cell phone usage...and have boarding passes. I got carried away and whittled it down alot.

I know at my interview they only asked to see the photos, even though I brought way more than just that.

Of course, every case is different...
