Visa FEES at mtl

I just read somewhere that you can no long pay for your k-1 visa at the mtl consulate that as of july 2007 you have to pay at any scotia bank, is this true???

That may be true. Your packet 3 will tell you were to pay the fee.

All non-immigrant visa applicants must pay a non-refundable 100 U.S. dollar application fee. All applicants (except for K visas) MUST pay the fee at any branch of the Scotia Bank before coming to the Consulate. Visa application fees cannot be paid at the U.S. Consulate General (except by fiancé and immigrant visa applicants).

Individuals applying for U.S. visas at consulates in Canada will need to first deposit the fee at a Scotia Bank branch. The deposit slip (see instructions for obtaining deposit slips below) for your visa application fee consists of 3 pages. A separate set of deposit slips is required for each applicant. Take all three pages of the deposit slip(s) to any branch of the Scotia Bank and pay the non-refundable U.S. visa application fee of US$100.00. The bank teller will stamp all 3 copies of your deposit receipt and should return 2 copies to you. You must submit two validated deposit receipts with your visa application. Unfortunately, applications without these deposit receipts cannot be accepted.

SO from my understanding the 100$ U.S has to be paid cash at the interview , the bank deposit is for other visas ( like student ,work , ectr ) hope that helps , Lona

I just got my letter from Montreal, and it says $100 US CASH!!!!!!

Thank you I know it is premature but I'm a planner and I HATE surprises so I'm always lookin ahead and makin sure everything is in it's right place for the right time when it's needed been that way all my life and has worked for me every time,better safe then sorry!!!

I am a K1 and I paid at the bank and it was not appreciated by the consulate even though they did accept it after a short discussion. I was told that the bank payments are not for the K type visa's and since you are a K1 bring the money with you and pay there, that is what they want.
