I have a question for anyone who knows even though I think I already know the answer.

I mistakenly used the notary's pen which was blue when I signed the I-864 and sent it off to my lawyer to hold for my wife's interview.. Do I need to print out and resign the I-864 with black ink and get it notarized again? The rest of the form is printed out with black ink.

Also as a side note and question, Is there anyway for my wife to visit me in the U.S. while we are waiting for the approval and visa?

I-485, G-325A, I-765, I-131.

05/29/08 AOS sent for Christine and the children.

06/10/2008 NOA 1

07/01/2008 Biometrics

07/18, 23 and 25/08 Physicals

08/30/08 Employment Authorisation (valid for 1 year)

08/30/08 Authorisation for Parole

11/19/08 SSN (valid for work only)

12/04/08 Initial Interview appointment / Rescheduling requested

02/03/09 Interview appointment / very easy, very nice officer, not too many questions, our evidences were enough

02/03/09 Green Card granted for the four of us

02/16/09 Green Cards arrived in the mail

How Should I Complete This Form?

* Use black or blue ink.

Based on the form instructions, I believe you are fine using blue ink.

That's understandable. These aren't trivial matters, and the potential consequences of an error could be disastrous. It's better to be safe and ask.

check that you are using the correct form. the i864 that we used a few months ago did not need notarized, the old forms did need to be notarized. you'll probably get a REF if you use the old version of the form.

met summer 1999, summer 2000 hooked up-whoo hoo summer fling

summer fling failed to fizzle, married 2003

I-130 mailed 12/15/03

4/1/04 no word from NE contacted senators office, app found

NOA1 4/13/04

Gave up on ridiculously long US process-started Canadian

12/4/04 submitted app

LSS app returned because of missed signatures, lost in transit, resubmitted in June

9/28/05 landed, yippie

10/4/05 fly back to US to "finish up Master's" lose mind and switch to PhD

Damn it back to the US process

3/something/2005 finally get NOA2, no idea why it took so long

4/15/07 get case approval from NVC

8/9/07 Montreal here we come

10/14/07 hubby activated his visa

Good point.

I just checked and here is what is on the website:

Edition Date :

11/01/06. Previous editions not accepted.

So make sure your form says "Form I-864 (Rev. 11/01/06)N" in the bottom right hand corner of each page.
