I think women carrying fetuses have the rights to make the best decision for themselves and fetus with their doctor and not anyone else, especially armchair political analysts.

I love rights. Everyone has rights. Right to choose etc..

Funnily enough it is everyone else who usually has to pick up the pieces when 'someone's' choices fail.

Who exactly picks up the pieces when a woman chooses to have an abortion? I am only aware of the woman herself, her family and her partner "picking up the pieces"

The question is directly related to your answer there. Gary and I suspect, based on everything else you've said that you believe fetuses have no rights. That's why Gary made that statement. Come on, it wasn't exactly a leap to assume you would take that position was it? You coming out and saying you never said that gives me the impression that maybe in fact we were wrong to make this assumption, and therefore we can establish some common ground in the debate. But since your answer was a bit ambiguous, I sought clarification, rather than just make statements based on gut assumptions. Now how is that rude?

Gary - you can hardly ask that question of somebody if you're not prepared to answer it yourself in the first instance. Especially if you have made a point of consciously avoiding to provide your opinion on the moral/ethical aspects.

I am perfectly willing to answer that question. A fetus has the right to live. But that is my personal opinion and I am willing to live with the decisions made by the state as to whether it is legal or not.
