One time a dog that lives here in my apartment building (the apartment right below mine) was attacked by a pitbul too.

The lady was walking her dog at night and the pitbul came running from the apartment building across the street and started attacking the other dog. We heard the lady screaming and we went to the balcony to see what was going on and that was one of the the worst scenes I've ever seen. The lady got a piece of wood and started hitting the pitbul but it wouldn't let the other dog go...... she then yelled asking people for help but everyone was too scared to get too close. She wasn't thought...... she hit the dog herself in an attempt to save her dog. We threw water at it too but it didn't even realize we were doing anything.

Finally my neighbor, who was also in the balcony, shot the pitbul using something that didn't kill the dog but made him unconscious.

Thank god the other poor dog went to the vet in time. It is fully recovered now!

And I have no idea what happened to the pitbul..... I haven't seen it since then.

I still think it has a lot more to do with the way the dog is raised than its breed.

Our neighbour's dog got into our yard last night and attacked our dog, leaving him with puncture marks "too numerous to count", many stitches, soft tissue damage to his knees, gouge marks on his face (so close to his eyes it's scary), deep wounds in his neck, and two very angry owners.

Jerry broke an oak walking stick beating on the dog, trying to get him loose and let go of Moses, and the dog didn't even flinch. It was scary. If we hadn't gotten a rope noose around its neck and dragged him off, I am positive Moses would be dead.

The thing that gets me is that this dog has ALREADY killed another dog (belonging to the owner's daughter), and her kids play in the yard with this beast!!!!

Now before pit bull owners flame me, I am sure they are nice and all that, but if it has a history of attacking other dogs and KILLING them, they should be put down. Period.

Now I don't even want to be in my back yard, it makes me sick thinking about it.

I agree and I have two Rottweilers, who although they have a fearsome reputaion, really are big softies and I had them both in the park one day and there was a guy, with two young children and a pitbull. My Rotties are very socaible dogs and they do like to have a sniff which is a dogs way of saying hello and if there stumps are wagging I suppose it is just like us shaking hands or something. Anyway Morgan, my male started to have a sniff, tail wagging when all of a sudden this pit bull latched onto his throat. Panic stations!!!

It would not let go and Morgan could not get to it because it was hanging from his throat and I had to stop our other rottie from getting involved, good job my dogs are well behaved and do as they are told (well most of the time) This guy could do nothing to get it off and all he could say was "I can't get it off, he won't do as he is told" all I could see was my Morgan's throat being torn out so I said if you DON'T get him off I am going to boot him to kingdom come!! So I did, it soon let go then.

I told this guy that I considered it totally irresponsible to have a dog without a lead who justs attacks others especially with two young children. Apparently pit bulls will have a go at anything, and I mean anything!!

Luckily Morgan was OK but it shook him and to this day I have to watch HIM whenever there is one of those dogs about, he has a good memory and I think he wants revenge.

[The reason god put spaces in between your fingers was so another person's hands could fill it up.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Nothing worse than when a beloved pet is hurt through something like this. I hope your doggy heals quickly. I'm glad you and Jerry weren't hurt.
