Anyone know of a few sites or Airlines with good deals flying from Manila to Los Angeles? I have checked many already but thought maybe someone on VJ might know of one that I haven't tried. Everything seems to be between $1,000 to $1,250. Some are more.

Thanks,

Charlie

Check this website out, but make sure to call them too as sometimes they do have internet special prices and sometimes they offer special prices if you go to their main office and reserve a date for your flight with deposit.

When booking a flight, consider the following:

1) travel during lean season, rates are usually lower by 40%

2) travel on a weekday Monday-Thursday, airfares are lower because less people are travelling

If your fiancee travels on Sept. 13 (a Thursday), Northwest offers MNL-LAX airfare at $635.10. Expedia offers airfares for the same date at $657 for Northwest and $795 for Japan Airlines.

Try calling Nobel Travel on Maui.

I booked flights for my wife and anak thru them on PAL.

Also for myself in the past a few times.

At first they said they didn't know anything about a first time immigrant discount.

Called me back and I got it.

I flew my wife and anak Mabuhay [business] and they didn't have to show the visas.

They did tell me if they were flying economy they would have to fax a copy of the visas or show them when they picked up their tickets in Philippines.

Price with discount was about $900 for wife and 720 for anak if I remember correctly.

It was almost a year ago tho and maybe things have changed.

I think I mentioned all this before.

PAL does not offer the discount directly to passengers. You have to go through a travel agent.

My suggestion is ,let your fiancee purchase the ticket in the philippines. Its cheaper if the immigrant itself will purchase the ticket. Try PAL (Philippine Airlines) always ask for the lowest rate.

Ha!! That's funny.. I was there today (talked to Teresita the owner) and she claimed no knowledge of that type of discount. Maybe I'll print this and show it to her Monday as I work in Wailuku also.

Don't remember the name of the person that got me the tickets at Nobel with the discount but I definitely did get a discount after asking for "first time immigrant discount".
