Confusion with Medical appointment and Checklist

Before I speak my cause I'd like to say how useful this forum has been for me and my fiancée, without it we could have never filled or followed through with my K1 visa application.

Now to my confusion. I was supposed to receive package three in the post about 20 days ago, it still has not been received. The embassy say it has been sent but still no sign, after a long wait I decide to phone the embassy and they have said I can get all the forms online so I don't need the package. I have completed DS-230 Part 1, DS-156, DS-156k and DS-157. All of which are now ready to be sent off but my problem lies with the medical form that was "supposed" to be present in the packet I was to receive, IV18a. When do I book my medical? am I supposed to book the medical now or do I wait for the next package to arrive to book the medical? and if so whom do I book it with.

I have read clashing information regarding this and was hoping someone could clear the situation up.

Also, because I still don't have my police certificate back yet should I wait to send the forms listed above and include the checklist with them when I receive the certificate or should I send the four forms now and then send the checklist separately after I have received the police certificate?

Thanks in advance,

Sev

If you have your case number, you can go ahead and book the medical even without the interview date. Tell them you haven't received the IV18a and they will let you do it on the day of the medical. The form itself is only two sides and just contains the usual questions you would expect.

If you book it now, it is another one you can cross off your list of things to do....

Good Luck

I wouldn't send it back until you have the police cert.

The checklist being returned tells them you're ready for an interview, and you need the police cert for the interview.

When did you apply for your police certificate? You should receive it within 40 days of application and if you are close to that date, you should start chasing to make sure you get it.

TracyTN is right, you need to make sure you have all of the paperwork ready for interview. I had everything in place when I sent my checklist back. It took a couple of weeks for them to process Packet 3, and then I had an interview within a week of packet 4. Given how quick London can be, it is important to make sure you have all the documents. So the key, by the sounds of it is the police certificate.

The other thing is I don't think they really do anything with your paperwork until they receive the checklist, because that is the document that tells them you are ready.

Hope this helps.:D
