I send you 3 good vibes, no more!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I've already written off the senators as useless. I'll try one again if I don't get an interview for September, but as for the other senator.... I have already vowed to NOT vote for her. And I have been vocal already with everyone I know. And the congressman's office that treated me like a common idiot? No wonder people hate Americans.....

How's that for anger?

yup. you've got it. Actually senators can't help or not help constituants based on who they vote for. I'd never vote for the senator that was so helpful for us, but I do tell my republican relatives to vote for him in the primaries.

so what happened with being on hold with NVC?

What?? Has it been so long from when you were calling?

You call, you press 1, then 5. Then cross your fingers. If the Spanish voice comes on, she says a bunch of stuff, then the English voice comes on and tells you to call later, then it HANGS UP ON YOU.

If you get the English voice first, then you get put on hold. I haven't even been put on hold yet.

I showed them though, I hang up on them before they hang up on me. HMMPH.

I despise America. I have never had so many violent thoughts go through my mind at once.

No wonder they had to create a Homeland Security. Now I know the feelings of crazy people to want to attack and destroy things. I have never felt the amount of emotions rage through me so quickly and intensely ever before.

I would like to think that this will all somehow make me a better person, that I will learn through this experience, but I cannot convince myself how it could possibly be. How anyone thinks it's okay to put people's lives on hold for indefinite amounts of time is beyond me.

I am disgusted with this country.

I hear you. I don't totally hate the whole country, but I look forward to the day when we can move back to Canada. The US has too many people who think that democracy=market economy and that the government is always the problem. Hence, we have an immigration system where an employer sponsored green card can be approved in 6 months while those of us foolish enough to marry a "ferrner" have to wait years to get them resident status.

And no I don't think that any of this bullshit is going to make us better people-just people with more rage issues.

I am pissed that people get work visas quickly and LIE about it. I know several people who do it so that they can freely cross the border whenever they want. We could have done it that way too, but we wanted to do it the RIGHT way. And what does that get us? Over 5 months of waiting for an interview... so far. They treat the people who do it legally like worthless #######, and they don't blink twice at the illegal ones. Bunch of bullshit.
