Just curious, how does one know whether the AOS application is approved and name check is cleared?

We had our interview and overall it went good. The officer was very professional and courteous. We were asked for paperwork to show proof of our relationship, medical work, etc. At the end of the interview, we were told verbally that our application was approved and we should get the card in a couple of weeks. Does this mean the name check has cleared? Are we supposed to get any other written letter or something? Is there anything we can or should do at this point?

Thanks for any help.

Congrats

I'm sure You should receive a letter in the mail....'Welcoming the New Resident'.......someone who has already gone through the AOS interview will let you know otherwise.

Only proof we had was the officer told us we would have apply to remove conditions in 21 months. Also would get the GC in the mail in 2 weeks.

Didn't get GC in 2 weeks tho as they screwed up the paperwork between my wife and daughter.

Took awhile to straighten out {like 2 months} but finally got the GCs with date of interview.

You are looking GOOD!

I recommend checking case status online to occupy your time. They don't seem to care if you check it 50 times a day :P , and it gives you SOMETHING to do while you wait. And your answer might come there before it comes in the mail.

But then again, mama always said "a watched pot never boils..."

You can set up an account to check case status online (if you don't already have one) here:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

You enter your receipt number from your NOA1 (I think... it's been a while).

Best wishes for speedy confirmation of your approval, and congratulations!

Maya

Many thanks to the Visajourney community for all the help!

If your namecheck was pending, the officer wouldn't have told you that you're approved and will get your card soon, so congrats and enjoy your new status!
