Hi all, My husband has got a permeant green card, he is British, been here 7 years. His 20 year old son is here visiting for the summer and decided he wants to stay here with his dad and me and not go back!!!

First of all, can he do that?? Can we adjust status and petition him to stay as his immediate relative?? Would he need some sort of permission from his mother if he were to just stay on the spur of the moment?? Just wondering if that is ok to do since he is here already or should we send him back and file from england?? Been searching the forum and can seems to find what I am looking for. Just wanting to know the options here. Thanks for any advice!!

How old was the son when your married his father?

You say son is 20. How old exactly?

When son's authorised stay expires?

I would add that at 20 he has cut the apron strings.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
