Well straight to the point first...

Does an approved i-130 grant permission to work? I have heard mixed opinions. I know that applying for the ead would allow it but i'm not sure i can file that right now because i am unable to file i-485 for a while. So i am just wondering if that petition will allow me working status when (optimistically) it is granted.

Now the details for anyone who is intrested:

This is kinda a follow up on my last question i posted the other day. You see its those pesky "have you ever committed a crime?" questions. Yeah, a long time ago in a whole different life thats dead and gone i had a bad day. Turned myself in and go a suspended sentence. History to me. But not as far as USCIS are concerned. Anyways its going to take a LONG time to get the legal copies of arrest details that they want. I mean i understand they don't want dangerous lunatics applying but the honest mistakes kinda get put in that category with them in a yes or no question.

what visa did you enter the US on?? if it was a K3 visa then you can apply for EAD before you file for AOS... if it was a K1 then no you can only file for EAD along with or after you file for AOS... if you entered on any other visa type then again no you would need to apply for EAD along with or after you file for AOS...
