There was a documentary on TV last night about Elvis. He was one strange mother...

really? remember the name of the doc?

i do recall he has some 'out there' thoughts.

i also recall the day he died. i was a fan of elvis. went fishing in the morning; came back in the afternoon; quite sunny that day; rode me bike to and from the creek; my pop told me the king had died. :crying:

It was on PBS...I didn't see the whole thing but it looked like his mother's death really affected him. He was a bit strange with fashion, being that he was a man...kind of reminds of Liberace and Elton John, only not as flamboyant but still bizarre and gaudy. I'm wondering what he'd look like today if he were still alive? Would he still be stuck in his fascination with fashion or would he have toned it down they way Elton John did?

I kinda hope he would have toned it down. I'm sorry, but I was never an Elvis fan either. Nor did I ever understand the fanatical behaviours of the women that haunted his concerts - the crying, fainting, and screaming...much like it was for the Beatles. And those jumpsuits...omg...I understand flashy, but come on...

He was definitely metrosexual before Beckham made it a household name.

GAWD! That woman behind him...geesh...the outfit that is. Well, I suppose it *is* fashionable somewhere.

 Someone in his entourage didn't have the courage to tell him how silly he looked. It's weird because he didn't start out that bizarre...it just seemed to have progressed to the point of absurdity.

Thanks Marilyn. ;)

I really like Elvis songs from his early days, not too much into the later years. I don't adore him as a person or think he was the most amazing, but I love the sound of some of his songs.

I also like "Can't help falling in love with you". But my favs are the faster songs and "Too Much" because I like the beat of it. Honestly I can't help but want to tap my feet(or dance around) anytime I hear a good oldie.

"Too Much". Love this song.

"Jailhouse Rock"! Gotta love the performance.

"Houndog"! :) They said you was high class, well that was just a lie...

I can't see any pictures (videos?) that you all posted, cause I don't have the plugins, and I can't install them here at work :(

But there are lots of Elvis' songs I like. Hound Dog, All Shook Up, Jailhouse Rock are among the favorites.
