Hey guys,

What does a USC spouse needs to bring and show the Immigration Officer during the interview as evidence of citizenship?

My husband misplaced him passport and I doubt we'll be able to find his in time for the interview. However, we have his Birth Cert, Driver's Licence and Social Security card. Would this suffice?

You know, I was thinking about this; we met online and he visited me twice back home. Although, he had made copies of those entry stamps on his passport, that alone is no proof, right? I mean, photocopied pages of entry stamp can be obtained from anyone's (who's been to the same country) passport. I have never examined a US passport, but does it contain the owner's name on every page?

Since we'd like to show that he visited me in my country at the time of the interview, it sucks to not have the passport itself.

And... he doesn't have his boarding passes anymore. Arrrggghhhh!!!!!!!!!!

bobby_DE,

Birth Certificate and Driver's License should do for citizenship for the USC (Social Security Card might help) although am not certain this would be asked for.

What visa did you guys petition for?

Drivers License or Social Secuity card will not prove U.S. Citizenship. (It doesn't hurt to bring them along if you want, but they won't accomplish your goal.)

Any of the following documents can prove that you are a U.S. Citizen.

1. Birth Certificate

2. Certificate of Naturalization.

3. Certificate of Citizenship

4. Form FS-240 (Report of Birth Abroad of a United States Citizen)

5. U.S. Passport
