Hi everyone,

I received my notice today from Vancouver that my interview is SEPT 5...................thank god!!!!! Does anyone know the best hotel to stay close to vancouver consulate. Is the consulate easy to find? i am soooo excited and still a little nervous regarding my denial per sec 212a7A back in Nov 2006................please pray for us that we will not be denied.

thanks, mary lou

Some places people have mentioned in the Canada Forum before have been the Century Plaza and the Days Inn, which are both close to the consulate.

My fiance stayed at the Century Plaza Hotel twice and we were both really impressed at the service, and on off-season their rates are amazing for the downtown area (in February it was $85 per night).

Nini - Vancouver BC, Canada (she's the one who does the forum thing)

Bee - Devon PA, USA (he's the one who gave her the shiny ring)

Getting our sanity tested by bureaucracy since 2007.

Here we go again...

I work across the street from the Days Inn. It looks fine and the pub downstairs (Smiley O'Neill's) has good food. It is approx. 2 blocks from the Consulate. I am not sure of the prices etc.

My husband and I just stayed at the Century Plaza Hotel for the past 2 nights which is a block away from Dr. Ian Morgan, where I had to have my exam and since you have to be there between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. it was a lot easier for me, and more fun. Otherwise I would have been up at 4:30 a.m. as opposed to 6:00 a.m. We paid $89 per night (online as the rates are cheaper than by phone) and we had a kitchen with a full fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, utensils, pots etc. It was almost like a little apartment. You have to pay $12 something per night extra for parking. There is a movie theatre a block or so away and restaurants and shopping. It is further from the Consulate though....approx. 7 blocks away. About a 10 - 15 minute walk.

The Hyatt is one of the better hotels and it is a little closer than the Days Inn but probably more expensive.
