January 17th my I-130 was approved

May 13th NVC received Affidavit support.

June 12th apparently my case was completed.

I called NVC August 13th and the message told me it was completed.

I talked to an operator it has been more than 8 weeks she told me they

are waiting to forward and schedule and interview date.

Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to get the interview date?

do I have priority since I am son of both US citizens unmarried and under 21?

will is take as long as two months to get the date, maybe more?

What kind of visa are you applying for?

Ciudad Juarez typically takes 12-14 months to schedule immigrant visa appointments due to their backlog.

well I did call the consulate in Juarez and they told me they did not have it yet to call back in 15 days...

The lady from NVC told me the schedule visa interviews the first two months of every month.

Are you serious 12 to 14 months. I've already been here for a year and a half.

I did read at the NVC website that 1st priority were, children of US citizens under 21.

so hopefully I will get one before a freaking year.

First priority for VISA availability. Not first priority for an available VISA INTERVIEW. Did the person at the consulate even understand what kind of visa you were inquiring about? Perhaps the rules are different for children, but I highly, highly doub it.

Ciudad Juarez has an enormous backlog - they're one of the top 3 busiest consulates in the world.

I'm not even sure the type my dad and my lawyer should know all that.

I just know that its an Immigrant visa.

I was looking at some other people time lines. and theirs seem to be pretty fast not more than three months or something like that.

Those are NON immigrant K1 Fiance Visa interviews. There is no wait for a fiance visa interview and they are open appointments. There is a 12-14 months wait for an immigrant visa interview appointment.

yeah thanks, that long for immigrant visa.... I just go of the phone with thye consulate in Juarez. I have priority!!! for the interview dat. yes there is a 9 to 12 moth wait, but sINCE i AM UNDER21 and my parents are both USC I AM an IR2 not an IR so yeah its faster for me, unless the consulate is lying to me.

k-1 visas should not be walk-ins. If it was up to me they should be in the back of the line.

Immediate Relatives of USC should be way up at front but thats just me.

Just to give some numbers from the Report of the Visa Office 2006 table XV: http://travel.state.gov/pdf/FY06AnnualReportTableXV.pdf

Mexico, Ciudad Juarez issued 52,546 Immigrant Visas in 2006.

Philippines, Manila issued 44,146 Immigrant Visas in 2006.

China - mainland born, Guangzhou issued 35,916 Immigrant Visas in 2006.

I am a US citizen applying for my stepson to come to the States (IR2 visa). Today it I sent in the affidavit of support so the case should be finalized at the NVC within the next few weeks. Could you please give me the number that you used to call consulate in juarez directly? I am also trying to determine if priority is given to minors of US citizens for an appointment.

Thanks
