HELP !! Lost receipt for certified delivery and check not cashed yet. I mailed my I-129F on July 28,2007 and missplaced the confirmation receipt  ...... I have been very careful with everything but some how lost the comfirmation and now can not verify if recived by the Vermont Service Center. I'm worried because I maild package on last date before the new fees take affect and MY CHECK HAS NOT BEEN CASHED YET.....I view time lines and see most checks are cashed in a 10 day period. Could something have gone wrong??????? I hope that they dont send back my package due to something missing or incorrect. I triple checked everything. I have not recived the package back as of yet but getting very worried. Thinking due to last minuet filer trying to beat the new fees may have cause a delay in processing...you think so.....Any one else waiting for check to be cashed with no word fr the VSC location????? I live in TX so I know I sent to correct place. Thanks

Hi, try to relax there's not much to do about it now. I think most checks were cashed within 10 days BEFORE the fee change. No doubt there was a huge surge in applications which will slow down the process, including check cashing. I'm sorry you lost the certified delivery reciept, but I'm sure you put a return address so it will come back to you if they don't deliver it.

Sometimes they can take up to a month to cash a check. You need to calm down though because you're just starting this process and it's a long one, if you keep freaking out you'll end up having a heart attack before your NOA2.

I just have to say... your advice made me laugh! I haven't experienced it yet but I'm sure that I will and I have read enough posts to know that it's crazy...

I have finally met my love and my best friend... I can't thank God enough for this gift! After spending 17 days in Ghana with my love, I am even more consumed by him and all that he is.

It hasn't even been four weeks. Relax. If you want another copy of the certified delivery receipt, contact the comany you used to mail the package. (BTW - this forum is about waivers - not K1 petitions).

I also sent the initail app package on the 28th to NE service center. It was received on the 30th, my postmaster checked for me but so far, as far as i know my check has not been cashed either and I was also looking at the 10 day window. So the surge of applications at the end of July could be making a difference.

What is the next step? Can I start preparing something or can my fiancee begin gathering materials now?
