Steven, if you're going to just sit here and judge people for not sharing the same belief in this matter...well that sucks really. You sit there and say things like 'oh it's arrogance' and TO ME you come across as if you think somehow we've all missed the 'BIG PICTURE ACCORDING TO STEVEN'

The bottom line is their whole existance here is based upon breaking the law. Putting Americans at risk security wise, robbing our social services to which they're not entitled, they've lowered the pay-bar when it comes to manual labor intensive jobs, and they commit identity theft, etc.

You have your beliefs and that's fine....but don't sit here and preach to people about how their 'plight' is somehow noble and righteous.

And since you feel so strongly, I suggest you remove the locks from the doors of your home...let whatever you have cover whomever wants or needs it. After all, anything less makes you a preachy, holier than thou hypocrite who wants to 'change the world' by 'do as I say not as I do'

If the argument against illegal immigrants is simply because their presence here is outside of law, that our laws, particularly our immigration laws are not a necessary indication of what is just. (see the red tex) That's the meat of my argument. I compared the actions of Abolitionists as activists who acted OUTSIDE the law. That's the only necessary comparison you need to follow (activists acting outside of the law). It was in response to Kez who questioned how someone could be breaking the law and still consider themselves an activist. Hopefully most can extract that without simplifying into a one on one comparison. ...sigh.

true!

Your "crusade" in words Steve are empty and void.

Steven, it is interesting how yo keep forgetting that immigration is a privilege not a right. Besides, if this "activist" of yours was truly concerned about what is and isn't just in how illegal immigrants are dealt with, she'd have a much bigger cause in her dear home country where illegal immigrants are subjected to inhumane treatment and where they are denied due process. I don't think your "activist" is too concerned about the plight of illegal immigrants - not here and not in her country. She's concerned only about one illegal immigrant. Herself. That does not an "activist" make.

You got that one right BD. That seems to be the popular way of life amongst illegals in the US. It's all about them and what they can do for themselves. "What is yours, is mine. What is mine, is mine".

Isn't Bush backing amnesty? Aka help his own close rich buddies out yet pretending he stands for republicans. He is about as religious and conservative as I am ultra liberal and loving of Cindy Sheehan and Jesse Jackson.

I don't think this is a partisan issue. This is more a common sense issue.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
