CENOMAR = CErtificate of NOn MARriage

It's a good idea to get one, even though it may never be needed.

You are good to go. A recent CENOMAR is advisable though. Get one a week before your interview. CENOMAR's now are easy to get, one day from request and its there. Yes, obtain lots of copies for future use in the US when you are already there .

Sis No need for Red Ribbon or authentication from Malacanang. Make sure to get a recent copy of CENOMAR 2 weeks before ur interview.

We are still waiting for the NOA2 as of this time but we are more than ready for all the possible requirements that the USE will require. I have acquired my CENOMAR last MAY. Would it still be acceptable if its been 6 months old something during the time of the interview? It will be 6 months in November and the way things progress with our case it looks like I will have my interview on early November (just hoping though).

Unless Manila has changed their policy they will not accept a CENOMAR from the beneficiary as proof of not being married. If the embassy believes they need to validate that the beneficiary isn't married they will request one. This has to do with document fraud in the RP.

CENOMAR if is the proof that a woman is single and legally able to marry. She should secure one, the US Embassy are asking for it, dont take chances.

Good luck

Sad but true in most cases.

Seems they tend to do their own CENOMAR checks on older women and woman with children more often which is understandable do to the difficulties associated getting an annulment in RP for the average pinay.

I know having one used to be suggested in the requirements and it's normally no biggy to get one and may as well get one and not be concerned not having one.

I personally know of one married woman who changed her name and got a new NSO BC and CENOMAR in her new name. Now she's single!!! :o

If she gets a K-1 interview do you think they will catch her?

She may run into one problem at the interview. With the late registered birth certificate they may ask for baptismal certificate. My wife didn't have a baptismal so she used her college records instead. Another problem is the DFA now requires a birth certificate and baptismal certificate before they will issue a passport. I advised my brother to do it legally and he shelled out 5 grand for his fiancees annulment. She wanted to cut corners too.
