Very easy to find. I think it is diagonally opposite a pub, I think the coach and horses (I hope I didn't make up that name!) it is a entrance to flat buildings (up 3-4 steps), a brown door with large windows. The buzzer is on the right side.

Black railings along the sides of the building

Very easy to find don't worry

I can't seem to find one of the posts in this thread that asked this question, so forgive me for restating: is it possible to book the medical as soon as CEAC says our case is in transit from the NVC?

Jake and I are hoping to get a *very* specific date for the medical exam (Monday, May 19th) and want to try to book as soon as possible. The KB website says all they need to book the exam is the LND case number, and our appointment would be several weeks away, so we know that London will have received our case by then.

Any advice on this? I asked my fellow Feb filers, but I'm not sure anyone really knows. Thanks so much!

I know that some of the process has changed since I went through it but as far as I'm aware you can book your medical as soon as your LDN case number has been assigned. Just make sure you have your police certificate and anything else you may need for it. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.

Some people like to wait until London has received their case before booking the medical but that's a matter of personal preference. Good luck with the rest of the process.

I KNEW I saw it somewhere! I just thought it was on this thread. Thanks, Gandalf.

Also: does he have to actually have his police certificate in hand? Do they ask for any info from it? He sent his police certificate packet in today to request it, so it will be back in plenty of time for a date three weeks away.....is the case # really all I need? Cheers :)

Edit: I know the guides say have it in hand, but then right after it says some people call with just their case number, so I was a bit confused. So is the "in hand" just precautionary? Or do they ACTUALLY need stuff from it to book the appointment?

They don't ask for details from the certificate when you call but they ask for you to bring it to the medical so make sure he brings it. It's to see if you have convictions that would lead to them wanting to test you for drugs/alcohol issues etc but if he's sent off for it already you have plenty of time. All they asked when I phoned was case #. My PC took 10 days from sending it off to receiving it back :)

I'm trying not to actually!

I didn't realise there was a gender check, I thought the genital part was to look for signs of STD's, I learn something new every day on this site :)

Now that I think of it, it is probably for both. The CDC's technical instructions direct a doctor to look there for STDs, but the fact that most doctors take a quick peek tell me they just want to be able to check the box on the form which says that they looked.

But based on what I read here, even with DOMA in the garbage can, there are still reasons why an applicant would want to fake their gender. And doctors are responsible to verify for the embassy that the person who preents himself/herself for the exam is the actual applicant. I suppose gender check is a part of it.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who provides reassurance and information in this thread. Up to a few weeks ago, I thought that people often asked silly questions about the medical and interview and panicked too much. Now that mine is due I'm starting to have the same irrational worries I once thought were crazy. My latest worry was "what if I really need the toilet and there's none there"! I guess it's a sign of how strongly we want to be with our partners that the nerves get to us a little when we reach the tail end. So thanks again to all of you who make this part of the process bearable and are tolerant of the many questions those of us who have yet to complete the process have :)

There's a toilet there. Me and my husband both had to pee while we were waiting. They do medicals for Australian visas too and they have to provide a urine sample, so.... :P

Or hopefully also they don't make you pee in the doctor's office while they supervise! :D

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Well I had my medical on Monday and I can safely say it was the most anti-climatic experience of my life. What was I worried about? All the staff were absolutely fantastic!

The journey was very straght forward as I only live about half an hour away, so I arrived with plenty of time to spare. I was handed a questionarie which was similar to the one they ask you to bring but with a few questions phrased differently. The tobacco one was "history of tobacco use" with a sub-question "current?".

I was first called in by the female doctor who I believe was the South African one people refer to on here. She was great! It was all very easy going until my blood pressure was taken and was 160 odd over 90 odd. I explained that it always goes up in the drs office and she said she would take it again after 10 mintues. We sat and chatted and she randomly started squeezing the pressure pump when I wasnt expecting it and it came out as 120 odd/80. I was thrilled and expressed my gratitude. She explained that the medical had gone perfectly and she would just need to wait for the chest xray and blood test for syphilis to come back.

I was then called by the chest xray guy who again was very nice and professional. This process took all of two minutes.

Lastly, I was called by the vaccintaion nurse who was very friendly and put me at ease. I was worried about getting the 2 jabs I was missing as I hate needles but I can hoestly say I hardly felt a thing!

All in all a very easy process, and not worth worrying about in the slightest!

The only time I heard of an extreme like that is for a convicted criminal on parole.

Needles in use today are very small, especially vaccination needles. They feel more like a fly landing on your arm than anything else. Blood test needles are a little bigger but if the nurse knows what she is doing, the same feeling: Fly landed on your arm. At most you get a slight pinch for 1/2 second. Really not a problem
