I admitted to depression.....but not the long past self harm....so she wanted more information from my doctor about my depression, on the letter to my doctor was questions about self harm which my doctor said he had to answer!!

I think now I would probably get a ban for misrepresentation....this has devastated us and we are too old to go through any more stress....

We have decided our only alternative is to withdraw our petition to avoid a ban. And now to end our relationship as a long distance one would not work in the long term.....how can two people that love each other be put through this nightmare!

We are both law abiding citizens and have no other reasons other than my past health against us!! It's heartbreaking!!

No...if I get banned I don't get to see my fiancé for years! Whereas if we withdraw the petition I am still able to travel to see him!

If I got a 10 year ban....my fiancé would be in his 70's.....we don't have as much time as a younger couple!!

I don't know what we can do or try to get out of the situation!!

I'm sorry that you face such a situation but why would you end your relationship based on that? Can your partner not move to the UK?

My fiancé cannot come to the UK due to financial commitments in the USA.....also he would find it hard to find a job here! I cannot support him financially in the long term....the only route we had was for me to go there and I've ruined any chance of that now!!

We both want to be together....we cannot afford to have a long distance relationship....the flight costs etc!!

I'm sorry, I thought you said you were ending the relationship. Misrepresentation carries a lifetime ban, not 10 years, but there is a waiver available. There's a decent chance you won't get charged with it, the doctor might just amend your paperwork and let it go. And if they do flag you you get to explain at the interview that you were nervous and didn't meant to lie. In the end it's up to the CO. You could start a new thread and see if people have any advice. I don't know, I think you're throwing away your relationship over something that might or might not happen.

I agree. It may not be such an issue as you think. Don't give up, this is a stressful process but love will prevail. As sharky-Rex says you may not get charged with misrepresentation and you could also get a waiver. It's easy to say things you didn't mean to when your nervous. I'm very good at it!! Keep going girl.

I had my medical last week and I had no proof of vaccinations and the ones I could have had they marked as medical reasons and gave me a waiver. I assume then that it was because they weren't available. This was for MMR and for the DPT the rest were age specific. So I doubt you need to get them before you go. I didn't and wasn't an issue. I didn't even see the nurse.

Are all K1 visa medicals done at the surgery at 4 Bentnick Mansions? I'm sure that's what they told me on the phone on Friday but I just want to check before I book my train. I have mine 1 week tomorrow

I believe that this is the case. Map B I think it is but yes that is where mine was and I haven't really read of anyone having it elsewhere apart from when the x-ray machine wasn't working but they still went to 4 Bentnick Mansions in the first place.

I have my interview appointment now for 10th April. They updated my case on 18th March, probably when they received the medical results. So didn't have to wait too long. I'm getting excited now. My fiancée is coming over on the 8th May for a holiday so I'm really hoping I can book my flight on the same plane and go back with her on the 21st May :)

Good luck with your medical and try to relax, it's pretty painless.

I had my medical at Knightsbridge Doctors in Bentinct Mansions on Friday. Closest underground is Bond St and it's only about 10 minutes walk to Bentinct St. The staff were really nice. I had my inoculations up to date and had proof with me. If you do need an inoculation, get it with your own doctor before you go as it's pretty expensive otherwise. I was there for just over an hour. Nothing to worry about at all.

As I'm applying for a K1 visa, I don't need to have the inoculations there if I'm not up to date, is that correct? I can get the missing inoculations at my own GP after the medical and that won't hold anything up? I think I read it as that.

Thank you! That's a great help.

Wow, 10th April? That's a pretty short turnaround, I'm hoping I get something similar.

That would be excellent if you could go back with her :) I just dropped my fiancée off at the airport this morning after a week together, so we are praying for a smooth process

Yes for K1 you don't need to get then until you're adjusting status. But definitely get them before you go. Good luck.

Before this gets further off track, I want to clarify something---

If you get your shots BEFORE your visa medical, then you are done with all medical things forever. Nothing additional to do for AOS because your shots are recorded on an official government form.

If you get shots AFTER the exam, then your DS-3025 immunization sheet is NOT COMPLETE. The USCIS won't take a shot record from your GP. You will have to pay a USCIS designated Civil Surgeon to fill out Form I-693. Will that be a problem?? Well..the odds are YES, it will be a bother and expensive and frustrating to you. Many insist on doing an entire medical exam. Some insist on a TB skin test (even though you are cleared of TB by your chest x-ray). Some charge $100+. Some are hours away depending on where you live.

Read this from someone who did not get it done in advance http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/461012-medical-exam-for-aos-after-k1/

This is just one example of hundreds, from many countries, I have read and replied to.

Wouldn't it be easier to put a completed DS-3025 in your AOS packet and not have to go through these experiences?

Get shots BEFORE the medical, or

Pay for them AT the medical, or

Tell Knightsbridge to hold your medical report until you can get the shots and the proof faxed from your doctor's office.

It's penny wise and pound foolish to not get a complete report in London.

Someone I met at Knightsbridge Doctors had just paid £70 for 2 innoculations there! You see Nich_ Nick, really can't be done without here! Thanks for explaining that so clearly.
