I'm sure this has been asked before but I've googled and can't find anything - just filling the form out now, what is "visa appointment date"? Do I leave it blank?

Yes, I think we put TBD for To be determined...for other visas, they may already know that but for the K1, we don't know yet. :)

Can someone help me with this? Is there anyone with these similar dates that has rcvd a letter from the embassy yet (packet 3)?

So is it safe to say that my Fiance can start making the appointment for the medical? smile.png He is filling out the forms at this point.

I also had a question about the Poverty Guideline Chart;

When my brother the co-sponsor is looking at it; it's his Wife and two kids including himself so he would look at number in household 4 or 5 including my Fiance? Is a letter from the bank stating how long he has had an account and the average amount he has in his savings is enough instead of bank statements?

I really appreciate the reply and help.

Thank you fellow VJ's

Well if anyone else has an appointment today - do say hello. I'll be the overweight guy worrying about his BP as his house is going on the market today.

Grey t-shirt with chimp - not easy to miss.

Hi All,

Well I am back and as long as the blood test doesn't test positive for syphilis I think I should be OK. My BP was raised (not surprising as I've spent the last two days flat out getting the house ready to go on the market today) and with the doctor rechecking it. It was higher than normal but not in the refer back to GP range by all accounts lots of people have raised BP when they go for these medicals. I also point out that I check it regularly at home with my own BP monitor so told her what my normal range was and she seemed happy with that.

Usual range of "not quite sure what value this" physical tests including a check of my gentlemen's bits which were a bit more than a quick check to see - more like TSE.

The X-Ray machine is working - unlike the card machine which isn't so they were calling the other branch to take phone payments - expect as someone noted above you can't always get through. Which is what happened to me so I'll pay over the phone myself and they'll send me my vaccination record back with the card receipt....

The only thing I would add is never volunteer information. When we were talking about my BP I mentioned that my routine BP was 125-30/80 with a pulse of 45-50. The latter is quite slow but I've had it since a teenager when did a lot of swimming. My GP calls it an athletic pulse (hahahah). The nurse immediately then rechecked my heart rate. Fortunately it was running at 60.....

So all in all - glad that is out of the way. I even got to check my own X-Ray

Oh and one poor dad was there with his young son who screamed the place down when it came to his jabs.

I do have one problem though (apart from not being able to edit my own message) and that is the tdap.

I only got my full vaccination print out on Friday and only scanned it . This morning sitting in the coffee bar like you do I notice that that the sodding tdap looked damn well like tentanus diptheria and polio. I questioned this with the doctor and said - no that's all find "the nurse has signed off your vaccination record and you're good to go". We even looked through reference guides to have a look at the different vaccines and the doctor stated that pertussis was age related.

Soooo - given that I'm pretty damn sure it should be pertussis and not polio - anyone know what this is going to mean ? I could ring up tomorrow and say HANG ON and try and see if I can come in for another jab as it's only £37 or wait and see......

My understanding is that you don't actually need any of these shots for the K-1 visa itself, but you will need to have had them by the time you apply for Adjustment Of Status. If you don't think you have the right vaccination(s) now i don't think you don't have to get them right away, unless you want to.

Check what the NHS too - they give out most of the required immunisations for free or cheaper too. My kids got their Hep A shots done for free and the Hep B is £25 rather than £37 Knightbridge Doctors charge. (They need these for AOS but they also need them to go to school there which they'll be doing before I apply for their AOS)

Yes - was aware of that. Just wondering how much it will cost if I need to get it done/re-done in the US. It will delay matters considerably if I go back to my GP (and might need to go through the medical process again) or perhaps I can persuade the medical people to actually let me come in for one jab. Don't mind paying the £37 but the doctor I saw today said that the nurse had signed off my vacccinations .

Which doctor did you discuss this with--Knightsbridge or your GP? You already went to you medical, right? If so you got a photocopy of form DS-3025 immunization sheet. Is it marked for Tdap?

Correct on the not required for K1, but much expense and hassle often because you have to go to a civil surgeon in the US if it isn't totally documented on the DS-3025.

It depends on what the nurse signed off whether you are complete for AOS. That document is all USCIS will look at unless you have to start over with a civil surgeon because some things were left off. Going to NHS after the fact means paying a civil surgeon to do a new form. They often insist on a whole new medical and snooker people into paying up to $350 for a new exam, which is not required. A few find ones who will do it for $35-50. That doesn't include the shot. That's just paperwork. Yes it can delay filing for AOS. Sorry don't have time to elaborate or find the gazillion times I've written about immunizations to post a link. Just taking a short break from funeral preparation for a beloved family member.

The discussion was with the Knightsbridge doctor with her even going through the vaccine references to check. I won't get the vacc cert until I've paid (their machine wasn't working yesterday). Will have to ring them anyway to pay and will check if they have confirmed it OK for the AOS which she implied she had.

Nich-Nick - Thanks for taking the time out to comment - been through this myself and know what it means.

So, my medical is tomorrow morning. AGHHHH! I'm so anxious. My chest has been a bit wheezy (I think due to hayfever) so I'm worried something will be on the x-ray. I don't think I have a chest infection as I actually had flu at the end of June and was on a strong course of amoxicillin afterward and haven't been ill since, but bleh. Got to be up at 4am to get on a coach.

It'll be fine! A hayfever-related cough isn't a serious health condition. Just relax. :) Is your ankle feeling a bit better now?
