LOL, I blame Chris! He's been saying all day about needing "to go to the store to get food" and "forgot to get this from the store", so I just sorta picked it up when typing XD it begins!

I had to renew my passport last October and I did the fast service at the Passport office. She looked at my old passport, my new photo and then back to me. I had lost 60 pounds and looked very different. I said `It's still me!' She said 'Yes, I can see that but you look very different' .

Interestingly, you are not allowed to smile for UK passport photos (big hair or no big hair!)

I am a big smiler so I'm smiling on my passport, driver license, and any ID things I've ever had. Nobody ever said I couldn't.

On a side note.. I can't help but being curious to see the Texas hair now :D

My old passport had fluffy permed hair and was longer. Plus it was a very dark picture taken by Walgreens. I'm surprised they even accepted it. Now we take our own passport photos and print them at home. My husband did all his immigration ones. (You know you will need six more for AOS.) I renewed my passport last year and he had to submit one or two with his citizenship application and then again for his US passport. The great thing about taking your own is you can keep trying until you get one you like. :P

I know! I was shocked that I needed 6 photos for AOS - well, technically, 2 for AOS, 2 for EAD and 2 for AP. I had to make another trip to Meijers for 4 more.

Has anybody gone for their medical in London this week? Would like to know if their x-ray machine is fixed or if I'm going to have to traipse around London to another office for the medical with my two kids.

And does anyone know if children (10 & 7) need x-rays also? They both had the TB innoculation as babies so its impossible for them to have TB.

From dark brown/black (that you can see in my pic) to a really light brown/dark blonde colour!

ooh I bet it looks really nice! :) I had mine lightened last night from a dark auburn to a slightly brighter auburn - I was just looking a bit washed out. :)

LOL, I blame Chris! He's been saying all day about needing "to go to the store to get food" and "forgot to get this from the store", so I just sorta picked it up when typing XD it begins!

lol - shop vs store wasn't one I noticed before lol...I do say some of Alex's words too...bum is a much nicer word than butt to me lol so I say that one on purpose. :D

Hi Kiwi - I think all our dates run about 1 day prior to yours as far as approvals. :) I don't know if the x-ray machine is back up and running but I would call them up and see if it's working again. It's been almost a week so I'm thinking it is but if you call ahead at least you know what you're in for. :)

The medical people don't care really about the date of the photo if it looks like you. How do they know when a photo was taken?

It is the embassy that says 6 months. My husband used his from the petition. The grumpy Asian document lady looked at him suspiciously and said "How old is this photo?" he answered "I don't remember...couple of month's." No further issue about it.

Queen--I've seen photos of you with really white hair and more golden blonde with chickenpox. Take a passport photo that looks most like you look now. If it is the one from the petition and still looks like you, it will be fine for the medical. At the medical they REALLY don't care what size you bring. It also doesn't have to be the same photo you take for the visa if they both look like you currently look.

the grump Asian woman is from the consulate? The one who collects the docs before the interview? If so, I had her as well. It was not a very pleasant experience!

Yes. She was there in 2008 when we went, at Window 1. Others have mentioned her from time to time.

Yep that's right! Still on Window 1 in 2013 lol. I tough it was just me :)

Window 1 was a young American chap when we went (that's who we were called to). I looked out for her, though, and I think someone who matches her description was at Window 3.

Ready

Immigrant Visa Case Number: LND********** ** LND Case Creation Date: 19-Jul-2013 Status Updated Date: 31-Jul-2013

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:

So is it safe to say that my Fiance can start making the appointment for the medical? smile.png He is filling out the forms at this point.

I also had a question about the Poverty Guide Line Chart

When my brother the co-sponsor is looking at it; it's his Wife and two kids including himself so he would look at number in household 4 or 5 including my Fiance? Is a letter from the bank stating how long he has had an account and the average amount he has in his savings is enough instead of bank statements?

I really appreciate the reply and help.

Thank you fellow VJ's

I'm sure this has been asked before but I've googled and can't find anything - just filling the form out now, what is "visa appointment date"? Do I leave it blank?
