Hi guys, i can see some of the sppoitments are 2-3 weeks in advance is that how long they make you wait or you are choosing the dates that suit you?

I called them on monday before last and they asked when I wanted to come in. I wanted to give myself time to get a note from my doctor so I asked for an appointment the following Monday. I should think they could get me in earlier if I wanted.

Give them a call, they will book you in. Hope that helps.

Hi guys, I know it's been discussed before but I just wanted to share my experience. I had my medical on 5thFebruary, I was pretty nervous as I have a history of depression. Thanks to all the information on here I knew to take a letter with me from my GP. It all went well, the doctor asked a few questions and then said it wouldn't be a problem. She said that what they're really concerned about is whether or not you're considered to be a danger to yourself or anyone else and as my GP had stated in the letter that I wasn't that was good enough for her. I'm just posting this so that it may give hope to others as I know some of the previous posts regarding this issue are a bit older and just wanted to add something recent. Hope this helps.

At last it is time to fill in the medical questionnaire, and hopefully someone can answer my questions, on the question of have you ever been hospitalised, does that include day surgery? I have had a couple of ops on my knees, but never required an overnight stay in hospital.

Did anyone else go for the medical while waiting for surgery? My medical is on 22nd April and I am having my gallbladder out on 30th, do I need to take anything from my GP, or will they take my word for it that this will be done laparoscopically and I will be fully well by the time I emigrate?

Thank you for any help you can give,

Hoping I'm asking this in the right place. My husband just called the London embassy and they told him he can schedule the medical whenever but that the interview would not be scheduled until after he has the medical. But I have seen based on others' timelines this seems wrong and I thought the NVC scheduled the interviews? We have everything at NVC and just waiting on case complete hoping in a week to two weeks. He is and can schedule the medical whenever but just wondering is he supposed to wait until after the case complete and we have an interview or can he go ahead and schedule it and try to get it worked into his work schedule now?

Thanks in advance for any help!

London schedules the interviews. I think you can book the medical so long as you have your case LDN number, as far as I understand it. And yes, they won't send you an interview date until the medical has been done and they've received the results (and, of course, the other readiness paperwork). This is the information: http://london.usembassy.gov/ds2001.html

Yep! He's ordering one now so once he has that he will schedule it. I sent the only original he had in with the IV package so he's getting another one but said it shouldn't take long and since they just got our AoS and IV package this week I don't think we will be delaying anything or waiting. But that's a good reminder!

For IR1/CR1 visas processed through NVC: The NVC schedules your interview when your case is complete. Then you schedule your own medical to happen before the interview..I would say at least a week before. Your London website page. http://london.usembassy.gov/imnvcoct.html

Notice links on the right about the interview and medical.

For IR1/CR1 visas process by DCF (Direct Consular Filing): London will schedule your interview after they have received your visa application forms and the medical results. Your London website pages http://london.usembassy.gov/ivprocess.html. And http://london.usembassy.gov/ds2001.html

For K1 visas: London will schedule your interview after they have received your visa application forms and the medical results. Your London website pages http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

All visas note: the vaccination list on the embassy medical page is out of date.

Erg. Apologies. Didn't realise they scheduled the interviews differently depending on how you filed your CR-1. My bad.

I'm sorry because I think I've asked this question before but I just wanted to be certain about this - we got our NOA2 yesterday after almost 9 months of waiting, so I'm trying to get all our ducks in a row.

I'm currently in the US but intend to go for my medical the day after I arrive back in the UK at the end of May. I only have one copy of my Police Certificate. I want to be certain that the doctors only need to see the original and will then retain a copy of it that I will bring along. Is this correct? I believe that the Police Certificate is needed for later in the process.

I wish I had asked for 2 copies of the darn certificate to be provided when I ordered it. Oh well. You live and learn.
