Glad it went well for you!! Check they have filled out the vaccination history properly, they left off a few of mine and ticked the age inappropriate box when I have had certain vaccinations anyway!

hey guys just thought id leave my medical experience! from this afternoon,

i had an early start left home at 7 am got to london at 1130 amand the medical was at 1:10pm , I arrrived about 20 mins before the appointment and the blonde recpetionist was very nice too me, weird i know!:) any way she asked for my passport, vaccination records, photo and questionnaire, which i handed over quick so not to get in trouble with the GREAT BLONDE RECPETIONIST

i waited in the waiting room till my time came around filled in a form that the recptionist gave me and a questionnarie! then i had an X-ray first taken by a nice south african woman! she asked me to remove the clothes fromtmy top half all in all it took about 10 minutes then she showed me to another waiting room where i waited about 15mins before i was seen by a male doctor. who i thought was scottish but maybe he was irish  He was nice and polite and asked me questions about where i work where i live and where im going to move too, we didnt really took much since i was tired and hungry. He then did the eye test, height, weight, ear, throat and gland examination, felt my around my stomache and checked my man hood, since i had an operation on it last month! he also took my blood pressure with my sleve down then up  and then took my blood, showed me back to the waiting room and wished me all the best !!

i then paid for the medical which i think is a complete rip off! got my ds 3025! and vaccinaton record back! said good bye to the lovely blonde recptionist :D and went on my way!!!

all in all took about an hour from start to finish! and had a nice day out in london ! great weather shame i wore a coat cause i thought it was going to rain !

He was definitely Irish and the reason I'm so certain of it is because he said to me, to a comment I made, that they don't have that particular problem in Ireland. :)

Good luck on your interview next week.

I had my medical this morning. I was slightly concerned as I arrived at 8:10 for a 8:50 exam (what can I say, didn't have a clue how long it would take a local bus to make into central London). Luckely, they let me in (the blond receptionist was nowhere in sight).

Had an X-ray first (actually they took it twice, wouldn't say why... ) and found it slightly disconcerting to be wondering about in a blue hospital gown holding my top and bra in my hands  Couldn't really stuff it in a bag... That part took no more than 10 minutes including double x-raying and waiting time.

Next was a male Irish doctor. He was nice and apart from standard questions that we’ve already filled in twice, we talked more about my job than anything else. He did the eye test, height, weight, ear, throat and gland examination, felt my tummy and that was it. Thankfully, no knickers dropping :thumbs:. Oh, I forgot, he did take a vial of blood and I've got a 50p size bruise to prove it :) and took my blood pressure.

Got my DS-3025, paid the extortion money and that was it. It took 40 minutes from the start of examination (chat with a nurse) to the time I left. Not bad at all.

My dear fiance's appointment is tomorrow in the morning for 8:55 AM, I hope the blond receptionist isn't there for his appointment either. Good review, I hope to share his tomorrow!

Good luck today but it really is nothing to worry about unless you've had drink or drugs problem in the past or a medical condition that's on their no-no list for entry into USA.

So happy to be finally posting my dear fiance's comments/review about the medical!!!

Note: Yes it is possible to get your medical done successfully WITHOUT your passport. My fiance just presented his UK Resident ID card (a new scheme since Nov 25, 08 for non-UK citizens living in the UK on LPR basis).

Well, surprisingly, the blond receptionist was quite nice and pleasant with my fiance. She did not even ask once about why he did not bring his passport.

My fiance had the nice blond doctor. She did not ask questions other than the regular medical-related questions. She informed my fiance about getting the vaccinations done before filing for AOS in the USA, and she was very thorough and professional in manner. She did ask my fiance to undress and leave on his undergarments and lie on the table for the examination part of the medical. She just took a quick peek in his boxers as part of the process while she was examining chest, stomach, etc. It was a very quick and painless procedure, she informed my fiance that everything looks great, the results should be at the embassy within 3-4 days. Of course she drew blood for the blood tests, and mentioned that if there were any issues they would give a call, otherwise they were going to forward the results to the embassy. The whole process took less than 45 minutes. My fiance had arrived about 1/2 hour earlier than his 8:55 AM appointment, no one else was there in the waiting room, and as he left, he saw the room filling in with people.

Not so bad after all :) So thankfully the medical is all done! Rating: 5 out of 5.

Thank you God!

I forgot to add:

The x-ray was done before he met the doctor and the doctor gave him the DS-3025 before he left and the receptionist gave him a receipt-thingy for his 180 GBP he paid.

(I am such a poor reviewer... )

Well I think my medical went about as well as I expected.

Receptionist - over hyped (not rude at all) even managed a smile.

Another form to fill, as others have mentioned mainly restating the information captured in the form with packet3.

Also the Blood Test/HIV test waiver.....

then after about 5 minutes wait:

Quick chat about inoculations received previously, as I did have some paperwork it boiled down to tetnus booster and 1 other.

Straight from there to:

X-ray (1st Attempt) - Press up against the lead plate, wasn't that (too) cold at all.

Another few minutes wait:

Doctor - perfectly pleasant, rushed through the admin, and got onto the poking, prodding, and blood taking.

Decided that my Blood pressure is too high (I am not surprised, family history of it), so that needs looking at.

Which I already organised ;). Given a letter to give to GP. Will get them to do the outstanding Inoculations too.

Grabbed on exiting that, for:

X-Ray (2nd Attempt) - Apparently my chest is "too long", and some of it missed the X-ray. Plate much lower this time!

Few minutes later:

Back with reception, to pay, and back outside.... less than an hour.

Random Train window shot - Outside London Bridge

Bond Street Underground Roundel

Street View - Near Bentinck Mansions

Bentinck Mansions - Front Door

Ooh, the lady should have told you which map you were meant to follow -- but don't panic! Just call first thing in the morning and ask where you're meant to be at. They're not that far apart so if you're around Oxford Street accessing either should be easy via the Tube. What time is your appointment? As long as you call them an hour or an hour and a half in advance, you should be okay. It took me just ten minutes to walk to where I needed to be when I got off on Oxford Street.

Magpie.

Ahh the famous Magpie! Congrats on getting through AP :) Yes my appointment is at 10:10 tomorrow and I arrive in London at 9... Do you think that would be okay? She told me I needed to follow Map B but as far as I can tell that's the only map available? Unless I'm being my usual self and missing something entirely (namely map A...) Thanks for the prompt reply!
