All, when you guys talk about the Vaccine records... did you take all your medical and vaccine records? I just got a letter/ certificate from my GP confirming when I have had MMR and DTAPs. Is that going to be enough or should I get the rest of the shot records as well?

Cheers!

Eep, goodness no. You need the entire list of all the vaccines you've ever had, right from childhood. Just double check the medical questionnaire you got with your Packet 3 and you should get an idea of what they're asking for. Safest bet is just to get the rest of the shot records from your GP. Good luck!

All the nurse at the medical was interested in was the date of my last DT and whether I had had the MMR jab or not. I did tell her I had chickenpox as a kid and she marked down that I didn't need it the varicella on the form. Its common for GPs not to have a continuous record of people's immunisations on record so I wouldn't worry if that is all the information they can give you.

Oooh. The doc did ask me about the others I'd had...I thought it was a strict requirement to have all the vaccinations on the following list in order to get AOS:

Visa medical documents (in PDF)

Apologies if I was under the wrong impression, I don't want to give out any misinformation.

thats just their price list - this is the adult immunisation schedule for the USA which needs to be met, they list all those as some are needed for different age groups such as children or seniors

http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/PDF/wk/mm5753-Immunization.pdf

In addition we have to have a TB skin ####### test prior to AoS but as I have heard that many civil surgeons are not transcribing the results from previous tests I will wait till I'm there and just get them to do it.

Thankums for clearing that up, Talyss. I was in a panic when I got my Hep B ones done! I have to get my third Hep B one and HPV when I'm in the US because the NHS doesn't do HPV here.

Apologies for any confusion @_@ this is why I'm grateful for this forum.

Just so you know, you only need to get a Hepatitis B vaccination if you're aged 18 or younger.

I did start the cycle...I was due for the other two shots so I figured I'd get one here anyhow, that's all.

I just thought I'd mention it. It's not a problem - unless you don't like getting stuck with needles. ;)

GIVING MY EXPERIENCE. :D

Sorry, I'm excited because I've watched this thread for ages and it feels good to finally post and tell my own story.

It all went really really smoothly. We (me and fiancee) arrived at Knightsbridge about 20 minutes early and had to fill out the forms.. went to the waiting room where there was a woman at reception that was very abrupt (i.e. rude) to myself and the other person in the room. Really no need for it seeing as people are already going to be nervous.. she took me to a room and told me that my vaccination record wasn't up to date, which scared me because I had specifically gone to the nurse to have the injections for free a week before. She then told me that I needed the HPV and I said I wanted to wait until I was in the U.S.. she said she would sign me off for that, and told me to go back to the waiting room.

I was then called for my chest X-ray.. the man was very friendly, joked with me about my hair being tied up like a pineapple for the x-ray. While waiting for results, he chatted with me about TB and showed me some pictures online of what it looked like. Told me my lungs were perfectly fine, and asked if I wanted my husband with me whilst I waited for the physical. I told him he isn't my husband, and then heard him go to the waiting room and say "would you like to sit with your wife?" which got a smile out of Bill. :)

I was then called for my physical exam which I had prepared myself for as being the scariest part. I had a quiet woman with blonde curly hair. She told me to take off my jeans underneath the robe. She then took my height and weight, and did a quick eye test (with glasses on). She asked me a few questions such as having criminal convictions or driving offenses, and if I had any psychological problems.. I said no to all of them, and then she told me to lay on the bed. She checked my breasts (pressing on them, I assume for lumps), heartbeat/pulse, blood pressure, abdomen, took a quick look down my knickers, and then took a blood sample which didn't hurt at all surprisingly. She told me to get dressed and then go back to the waiting room. I breathed a big sigh of relief and went back to Bill who told me how proud he was.

Then came the moment they took the £180 from me, and that hurt. They gave me a copy of something with a list of my vaccinations on and told me to keep it for AOS.

Overall, I couldn't believe how easy it was. :)

LOL!! Ah yes, the famous stroppy receptionist. She really is a rip-roaring beotch, isn't she! Needs a size 12 up her #######, that one.

other Overall, I couldn't believe how easy it was. :)

And interestingly, no TB skin test performed - again. I would have thought that was mandatory by now.

Apparantly it is mandatory now but it is for AOS, I did ask knightbridge about it and they said no they did not do it, which is a pain

Damian has had it done, he found somewhere that does it and paid to have it done, he did give me the name of them but there was no where near me and as you have to go back 2 days later to get the results I was not gonna bother, so lost the name of them now hahaha go aks Daymo
