Hi

Could someone please tell me how the vaccination checklist should be completed at the medical? I know that you have advised before to make sure they fill it out properly. but not quite sure what i would be paying attention to. I couldn't find any example. thanks

I wrote out an explanation that is pinned in the AOS forum. In the first post http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/551080-immunizations-ds-3025-or-i-693/

It would help to print out a copy of the sheet and see what the DS-3025 looks like http://photos.state.gov/libraries/thailand/591452/iv/ds3025.pdf

Thank you Nich-Nick.

I understand that each position either has to be marked as completed (date of vaccination) or has to have a waiver at the last column, appropriately marked with letter code.

You also said that:

2. The new form has a summary section. It may be marked:

"US vaccination requirements COMPLETE (Requesting a Blanket Waiver)"

But instructions I have seen says it is only marked for immigrant visas. I know In London they leave section 2 unmarked at K1 medicals.

So does it mean that even when everything is ok (including the waivers) they still may nor mark the vaccination requirements COMPLETE? does it may cause issues later on?

So does it mean that even when everything is ok (including the waivers) they still may nor mark the vaccination requirements COMPLETE? does it may cause issues later on?

Knightsbridge WILL NOT mark a K1 sheet at all in that section. That is what they have been instructed. People have argued with them. The results section changed wording and that is what they are doing with this new form. I guess until some of the others already in AOS report back their experiences, we won't know. And there are so many adjudicators across the US in local offices that may not have read the instructions that say if the shots are recorded then even if the results are not marked, they can approved. At an interview you could point out "but all of the shots are there". But many of you won't even interview for AOS, so others at a national location are approving.

The most annoying thing lately is that AOS is taking a very long time. When it goes past a year, many are being asked to do their entire medical exam over. Even if you had a civil surgeon re-do your shot record, you'd end up going back for a medical.

I would say the ideal plan is

--Get free shots from NHS

--Make sure they get marked on your DS-3025

--Make sure they know you had chickenpox and mark Varicella History

--Make sure they mark Not Flu Season (until Oct 1)

--Hope for a timely AOS decision by someone who can see your shots are covered

There are no guarantees, but at least you gave it your best shot for no further expense.

If you are a person who didn't plan ahead for shots because you just had to rush the medical as soon as you learned your LND number, then --Oh well. It's just going to be a couple hundred quid maybe. Don't beat yourself up over it. The ones who planned ahead could also be spending money if their AOS takes too long.

I am actually very organized person and I have sorted all my vaccinations and documentation for the medical few months ago. good to go

The medical exam report is four pages, and includes the vaccination page called DS-3025. They will send you home with a photocopy of the DS-3025. The original gets sent straight to the embassy and eventually to your USCIS files in America.

My form was marked complete. No idea if it's because I'm not British and I do have those vaccinations not given out in this country.

No idea. We had this discussion a few months back and one of the members said the nurse told him no. another person kept pressing for a "complete". The nurse got mad and went to get the doctor to confirm "we do not fill in results on non-immigrant visas."

There is a thing I found that instructs panel physicians to leave that part blank for non-immigrants, but I don't want to go look for it now. If I was going, I would still ask and say but I am immigrating and a K1 is different than the rest of the non-immigrant visas which are temporary in nature. If you will mark that I have met the vaccination requirements, you will save me money and trouble in the U.S.

Knightsbridge was emphatic about not checking it to the point of rudeness. :P

He even went in twice to argue the point. We'll see what happens.

Hello

I had my medical interview today and I thought to share my experience. I live close to London so I got the train and took off at the Liverpool Train Station and then Central Tube Line to Bond Street. Once you get off the Bond Street tube you cross on the other side of the street. Turn left behind Disney Store and keep going on Merylebone Lane. Keep going once you see Hinde Street turn right and you are at Bentinck Street and the doctor office (map B) is right there in the corner. Very easy to get there.. 5 min walk in total.

I arrived there really early and wanted to check if I am at the right place. The nice lady at the office said that she has a time slot available an hour before my booked appointment if I want to take it. I said sure. So then I came back there at 1.30pm. At first she asked me if I have all the documents that I was supposed to bring. I said yes and handed that in (letter from the embassy - packet 3, vaccination records, medical questionnaire filled out, police certificates, passport and 4x uk size photographs). Then she gave me another medical questionnaire to fill out and asked me to do it in the waiting room. it asks for all your medical history. I returned the document and was told to wait and someone will come and call me.

Nice gentlemen shouted my name. I gathered my belonging (I was charging my phone there and he made a joke about that they will charge me for the electricity, he also said Hi and How are you in my language). Very nice gentleman.

He asked me to take off the top and bra and gave me the gown. I had to press my breast to the machine and he took the x-ray. He said that everything that should be there is in place and that there is nothing that should not be there. Then he asked me to go to another waiting room. I was not sure if to get dressed but he asked me to keep the gown on. I was waiting there for a little bit and then another lady came in and took me to another room.

She was not very pleasant. She was very serious lady. She was actually a little bit scary. She made me feel nervous. She asked me about my medical history. Then she told me to take off the shoes so she can measure and weigh me. She asked me to read the letters on the board for the eye sight. I mentioned that I have contacted lenses on and she said it's fine. After that she asked me to sit down on the bed behind the curtain. She listened to my chest. Then she measure the blood pleasure commenting that is abnormal. I said that I am stressed and I gave her a stupid smile I think but she did not react. Then she checked my eyes, ears and mouth. She used the hammer to check my reflex on my knees. I had to lie down and she listened to my chest again and was touching my belly. She had a quick peek into my underwear. Nothing major. Then she took the blood sample. After that she asked me to get dressed and lay down for a little bit as she is going to check my blood pressure again. I was trying to calm myself down thinking about my fiancé hehe... When she tried again she said 'perfect' ;) After that she completed some paperwork (she did asked if I had chicken pox). At the end said that everything is good. After that I had to go back to the waiting room again.

I was waiting there for at least 30 mins and I knew that I am waiting for the nurse to call me in to check the vaccinations. She was very nice lady. We went over this together. She marked off all the sections where applicable either with dates or waivers. But they do really look into Tetanus, MMR shot, varicella and influenza. So I had the proof that I had the vaccination for hepatitis B but she still marked it off as 'A" not age appropriate. So they do not really care about other shots! Anyway, she asked me when I am thinking to go to USA and I said October/November and she advised to get the flue shot before I leave as it will be the flu season then. However, she still marked of my paper with 'F' - not flu season. She said that everything is fine and she will finish some paperwork and then they will ask me for the payment.

I went back to the waiting room. Then I was called in and the nice lady at the reception (every time she refereed to me by my first name which I think was nice) anyway.. she gave me back all the papers and she said that she is returning everything that I handed in excluding the photographs (by the way it is 4 photos and I submitted the UK size). I looked over and I could she that the Vaccination sheet is not marked off as COMPLETE. I told her that this needs to be marked and that nurse said that I have all the vaccines. Then she went off with that:

'You are the K-1 visa which is non-migrant visa and for that reason we do not mark it off as complete. If you were already married then we would sing it off.'

Basically there were no discussions with them on that matter. She said that this is my copy and I need to keep it safe for my AOS. I was really frustrated but I could not do anything.

Then she took the payment of 250.00 pounds (so expensive by the way) and said that the results will reach the embassy next week and If there will be something wrong they will contact me. I also got the leaflet that explains details of how many days it takes for results (2-3 working days) and when it will be send to embassy (within 4 working days) and couple more information. There were also a note attached about the readiness form that notes the fact that it takes about 6 weeks for forms to be received and registered on applicant's file from the date on which they are mailed to the Immigrant Visa Unit.

It is all completed and now waiting for the letter with the interview date! so excited and so much closer as never before!

Had the medical today - easy to find & found the staff really pleasant. Slight hiccup that the Dr found I had a slightly enlarged thyroid so now needs me to see my GP before she'll sign me off. She didn't think it was anything to worry about & it wouldn't affect the visa but it needed the GP to let her know what the outcome is.

So now the fun & games with my GP begins again!!! Having wasted 3 months being messed about over vaccinations I'm not confident in a quick process from them!

Had visa medical this morning. All really smooth, professional, friendly and organised.

I got an 8.50am appointment this (Friday) morning.

Arrived on time.

Filled in a questionnaire I was given on arrival.

At 9.10am I had my medical examination.

Height. Weight. Eye test. Blood taken. Quick abdominal prodding. A few more general questions. Then questions about surgeries I had in my life (no additional info requested). Quick look at my genitals (nothing invasive).

Took about 20 minutes.

Then chest xrays. (easy peasy)

Then chat about vaccinations (I was missing MMR so opted to pay £45 for first of two doses needed)

All done in about an hour.

All staff lovely. Chatty. Friendly.

Paperwork completed.

Out the door.

Nothing to fear.

Medical yesterday at 3.10pm. To echo everyone else all straight forward.

Order of the day was chest x-ray, vaccine check then medical.

If you have any potential conditions or past history of anything pre-plan and take the Dr letters. It really will save everyone time. Nothing else I can add really it was some waiting around lots of people waiting and echoed the more in depth descriptions in this thread. Friendly and professional.Next stop interview next Monday!

Thanks

Mike
