Well the London instructions say DS-160 is Step 1 and making a medical appointment is Step 3. So what does your logic tell you?

Did you read the London website? http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/fiance_instructions.html

I just have to try to make you read stuff because I was a teacher and want you to read your instructions and don't believe every contradictory post on VJ. Not being snarky to you. I just want everybody to READ. :P

Hahahahaha You are too funny!

I know you are smart because I read all that NIC contribution stuff you spouted out with ease. I just get compelled to point people to the source to focus their tired visa brains.

Does anyone know if the medical results take 3-4 business days or just regular days? It's just I had my medical on Friday, and I checked the CEAC tracking and it says it was updated today. I was stressing over the x-ray due to some previous health issues with my lungs so can't wait til I get given the all clear and it gets sent to the embassy! Apart from that, the medical was super easy and everyone is SO nice. Especially the female Doctor from New Zealand.

The wait is to get the blood work report back from the lab. Your blood work could be back to Knightsbridge Mon or Tues, but I don't think the CEAC update is medical file received by embassy and already online. It isn't that efficient. Call Knightsbridge if you have a question about your lungs. They answer the phone, unlike the embassy or CEAC.

Hi, how many hours does the medical take?

And can I have it done even though my case has not been reviewed yet?

I had mine done today (at the Bentinck Mansions location). All in it took approx. just over 1 hour.

What do you mean by "my case has not been reviewed yet"? You need to have the NVC assign you a case number before you can book a medical, and your case technically should be in London the date that you have your medical.

EDIT:

Just checked your timeline and see that you are applying for a CR1 visa, and that your case has already reached the NVC. Have you got your LND case number yet? If so, then technically yes, you can go ahead and book your medical.

Here is my fiancé's review of his Knightsbridge experience, which he completed yesterday (with a pounding headache and a bundle of nerves).

The five hour drive was draining, especially since he only had a few hours of sleep. Getting into London took longer than expected, and it was a toss up whether someone was going to pull out of front of him, and some signage was not clearly marked at times. So all in all he found driving in London confusing. He managed to park at the NCP down the road for about £20. It was about a two minute walk from there to get to Knightsbridge, and he pressed the buzzer and went in. You have to go to the second window for the receptionist, the first window is for leaving. He was about a half hour early, so they asked for all his forms, and they asked him to fill out more paperwork in the seating area. He didn't expect that there would be jugs of water and plastic cups sitting randomly on a desk, instead of a water cooler. He waited for about 15-20 minutes, and about 8 minutes before his appointment time he was called to get his chest x-ray. He got to figure out where each photograph he provided went to (it seems each person you see has one).

When he went to have his x-ray, the nurse ''Lucy'' popped in and stated since he had all his shots already completed he would not need to see her. This was puzzling to both him and I, as I assumed the nurse would be filling out his DS-3025, and would go over all his vaccine records to double check, and my thought was that something was going to be screwed up. But he was well prepared with his documentation. He followed ''Louise'' down the corridor to a dark room and advised him to get undressed and stand at xray machine. The xray was fine and he proceeded to get dressed. Her manner was polite but rather disinterested. After that he went back to sit down for about 15-20 more minutes, and during that time he noticed another VJ member enter the room, and thought about saying hello, but he didn't want to bother them, so he kept to himself.

Eventually he was called to go along with the doctor ''Rosie'' who went over the form with him to ensure the DS-3025 was filled out correctly. They chatted a bit about how we met etc. Nich-Nick has been super valuable on VJ keeping us informed about what the DS-3025 should say. She also asked him a few health related questions, took height and weight, and told him to sit on the table and did an eye exam. She asked him if she could see the letters, and he said no because he wasn't wearing his glasses. :P She apologized and didn't realize he needed his glasses, so he retrieved them to continue the exam. She explained to him the details of the medical examination including a testicular exam. She gave him a full physical exam and took his BP which was high (he was stressed out and nervous) and took his blood. After that she had him lay down to continue the exam, including reflexes. Then of course came the dreaded and awkward testicular exam, but he tried not to think about it. :P

She advised him to get dressed, and then randomly asked if he had any convictions. At the time he wasn't sure what on earth she meant/didn't hear her properly thought perhaps she was asking about religious convictions or what had just transpired! He paused and said he didn't know. She asked him again, and he clarified he hadn't understood her. I think they had a bit of puzzle/laugh about it. And then she continued the line of questioning about drugs/alcohol/etc, and asked if he had any further questions. Being flustered he didn't. Then he went back out to reception and now to the first window with a woman who seemed bored with her job, who returned his paperwork, DS-3025, and then said ''unfortunately the last bit is the payment''. :P She also explained about the DS-3025 and before he could ask about the bottom complete for US immigration she insisted it would not be filled out for K-1s but that the form is correct (it was). When I had a question about the form's correctness, he went back inside and double checked with her once more. And then he was done.

On the way back out of London his dad (who had traveled with him) saw actress Sunetra Sarker from the tv show Casualty and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen -- that did not make up for the 5 1/2hr return drive home.

The moral of the story is, ladies and gents, it's stressful but try to relax, because it won't be half as bad as you fear. Be prepared as you can be, and try and get your shots from your GP ahead of time, study up how the form should look to avoid leaving the building in a tired or flustered daze without it properly filled out. He did offer the letter from his GP regarding his old hand injury, which the doctor did examine thoroughly and made sure to make notes on it.

The red book is just the vaccination record. It's not a required format. You need proof of the vaccinations you've had so either take ehT you do have from your previous doctors or check what you need to get up to date with any missing shots and take that with yo. Many people don't have a red book and just take a printout from their doctor.

You need to have proof of vaccinations (I had this book for my updated shots this year and also my immunization sheets from 20 years ago for the ones I had as a child), though vaccinations are not required for the K1 Visa. You have to have the vaccinations for the Adjustment of Status. If you leave it until you are in the US then it's more expensive then getting them done on the NHS now. If you look at Nich-Nick's post pinned at the top of UK forum all the information is there.

I wasn't born in the UK but I have a vaccination book but just to be on the safe side I went to my UK doctor and got a referral for blood tests to check which vaccinations I have had and I will be taking those results to the medical as well. That might be worth doing if you have time.

Had the medical today at Bentinck Mansions. Train from Newcastle at 11:30 got to Kings Cross on time at 14:42. Medical was at 1530, so I got on the Victoria line to Oxford Circus, then one stop on the central line to Bond Street. It is a 5 minute walk from Bond Street, most of which I had followed earlier on Google Street View. I arrived 15 minutes early, and filled out the questionnaire. At about 1600, I was called along to have my chest x-ray. A pleasant gentleman, and that was finished 5 minutes later. At 1615, I was then called from the waiting room to see the Doctor, whom first asked me all the questions about crimes, drugs, alcohol etc. I had my weight taken, and my height. I did the eye test. Had my eyes, throat, and ears checked. Blood pressure was taken, then my heart and lungs were listened to. Then after a bit of prodding and squeezing, the genital examination, which was quick and only a tiny bit awkward! The doctor said, "This is the part that everyone hates", to which I responded "Nah, I think the worst part is paying!". My vaccinations had been checked before meeting the doctor, so after that I went and paid. I walked back to Bond Street, got the tube to Kings Cross, got McDonalds ;), and then stood around for 2 hours to catch the train that I am currently on.

Had my medical on the 15th of July. Very pleasant. Lots of people in the waiting room not saying anything which is the second most awkward thing about the whole experience. Like most have explained after checking in and filling in the paperwork its a 3 part procedure.

1. Chest X-ray. A very pleasant gent took my into a room and X-rayed my chest 3 times (Ive got big lungs that wouldn't fit onto the image fully) No info is given to you regarding the X-rays, they are just passed onto the doctor. After the X-ray you go back to the waiting room to wait for the doctor.

2. Pecker Checker doctor part. Had a pleasant enough female doctor who first asked me about the form that you fill in (Meds/Operations ect.) and then proceeded to asked me in 3 different ways if I had ever abused or used drugs or alcohol. When she had done going over everything my weight and hight were took. My eyes were then tested (read out line X on the chart), your ears and eyes are also examined. Then the fun stated.... "Strip down down to your underwear put on the gown" :joy: . Its really not bad at all. You lie on a bed covered with the gown on and she checked over my glands and listed to my heart beat whilst putting her hand under the gown (Its like a dressing gown not a medical gown, it opens fully from the front). You really don't feel that exposed. After pushing down on my belly for about 10 seconds she just said she was going to pull my waistband back and she had a peek down there to which she said "Thats fine" I wanted to say "Just fine, thats amazing" but thought better of it and "just fine" is the best review its ever had anyway so thought best not to push it  . After checking my pecker she listed to my breathing from the back and drawn 1 vile of blood (didn't even feel it, I've given blood a few times before and she was the best I've ever had). I then got told to go back to the waiting room after I got dressed of corse.

3. 10 mins later, I was called for payment (£250 :crying: ) and was given a copy of my signed off vaccinations for AOS.

Top Tip - Theres a red button to push on your way out of the last door to get it to open. Took me a moment to see it.

Hmm now I'm starting panicing a bit.. My medical examination is in 2 weeks, and recently I find out that to get my vaccination records is almost mission imposible.. I grow up not in England, so need to get my reccords from family doctor... All vaccinations from the list (execpt 3 ) were compulsory when I was child in my country, but now I can get records only after medical examination, if only I will get it at all... If I don't will they force me to have all vaccinations again? Most of them are children vaccinations.. I don't know what to do...
