I was in fact on my period when I attended my medical in October. They still check. It's just a split second. I was mortified but I underst why they check.

My fiance has just visited me for 3 weeks so thoughts on the visa left my brain while I enjoyed his stay. Now he's gone I'm back in visa mode, next big step is getting my vaccination records, getting a flu jab then booking the medical. Are there any shots that have an expiry date so to speak? I hope I don't have to get too many injections I'm a bit of a wuss.

Tetanus & MMR they were big on those, if you don't have childhood records of getting the initial doses they will make you get them.

So bring all medical proof.

Hi there! Here's a question that's probably been asked a million times that I still can't seem to find the direct answer to: How do we know that the embassy received the results to the medical? My fiance had his on Monday, so just trying to figure out how to confirm they got it.

I'm guessing you're a lady (from the bra comment ). Did the doctor have you lie down and make you open your legs with your trousers and knickers down? That was the weirdest part for me!

The doctor is required to examine the genitals and check off a box saying that he did. Most of the time they take a quick peek just so they can check the box without lying, although in countries with abnormally high STD rates he might be more thorough.

We can only speculate on why the doctor must do this. But it seems the biggest reason is to check for STDs, as urinalyisis misses a lot of active STD infections. In additon, I heard some rumors that fradulent representation as to your gender is common on the I129(f), and this is an easy way to bust impostors.

You get your letter with your interview time (packet four), I think this is the only way you'd know. Or perhaps an update on the CEAC regarding how recently changes have been made?

Thanks Pheebs! That's what I assumed but wasn't sure if there was another way to know. I checked the CEAC status this morning and it was updated again today, but I think it's because we submitted the DS-160 & readiness form last night. Ah well, guess I'll keep checking it!

Thank you! Out of interest did you guys ever officially receive "packet three"? I still don't have mine even though our last case update was January 7th but as I've already filled out the DS-160 and readiness form I wondered if they just didn't bother sending me one...

Yes! My fiancé got it in the mail on Saturday 1/10. He said it was delivered by a courier (I think). I'm surprised you haven't gotten anything yet.

I found it strange they couldn't give me some of the results of the medical on the day or tell me how I did. Scars were the only issue, but the doctor mentioned that "physical went okay", but the questions regarding scars were peculiar and she even tried to catch me out to see if I'm a liar. They are just childhood scars lol. All understandable in her position, but a little uneasy to start with. All went well and it wasn't bad at all. Everybody was quick and friendly. I just hated the rain and getting lost.

Quick question! The medical is scheduled now, and the confirmation email is received. They are asking for a letter from the embassy with a case number and visa category confirmed. We never received the packet 3 (moving house in the middle of the process screwed things up), and the only letter I have is the NVC notice, which has the case number, and says it is for a K visa.

Would this work? Or should I email the embassy and try to get something before his interview (January 29th)?

My fiance got his medical done on Jan. 3rd and we hadn't received packet 3 yet OR the letter from the NVC. They just asked for it and when he said he didn't have it they told him just make sure it's the correct case number and that they embassy had received the case.
