Thanks for that, but the link to the I-693 Vaccination Supplement - Appendix A doesn't work.

It did when I posted it, but it seems to be Missing Page status this morning. Checking the CDC website to see what they've done with it and I'll update later.

I know it says that the Varicella jab isn't available in the UK but it is! I'm having the first on Wednesday and the 2nd a month later, costs £90 for the two.

Thank god I had chicken pox when I was 30...........my doctor wrote it on the vaccination record to take to the interview 1 less jab and less money to fork out, sorry you are gonna have to have it though........

I had chicken pox when i was 3, but my medical records were misplaced so can't be proved!

Heard the jab can make you pretty sick...can't wait!

I had chickenpox when I was 7 but I have no 'proof' - the doctor at the medical seemed happy with that and I passed the medical so I guess the jab isn't required in the UK

I'll call them tomorrow and check.

I was under the impression that if i couldn't prove having chicken pox i would have to have the varicella immunisation in US for AOS?

You can have a blood test to show if you have antibodies and if you do you wont have to have it

I had mmr and tdap and cried I am such a whimp I dererve a smack, but cant help having a phobia about needles, and my finace was gonna pay for a tattoo for me for Christmas...........yeah right ha ha

If you do have to have the jab hope you dont feel to bad, have you checked how much it is in the States as you only have to have it for aos so you can get it done there

good luck

I have a phobia about needles and all my immunisations need updating

although i do have 3 tattoos, totally different type of pain

It was $90 in US, but thought if i was going to be poorly i'd do it here and get paid for being off work!

To be honest I would rather have the jabs than a blood test as the pain for the jabs is after and bearable

I am jelous I so want a tattoo but so scated of needles that I will never get one, my fiance is covered in them so he buys me these t shirts and the sleeves are mesh with tattoos printed on them and they look great, so I dont feel so left out ha ha

Good idea if you can be off sick here and get paid for it I would say go for it, although we will all have plenty of time on our hands when we get to the States and waiting to be allowed to work

I am already waking up at nights in a panic thinking about the blood test at my medical next week

At least having a tattoo makes the pain worthwhile you have something to show for the tears. IMO well worth it.

Hope the medical goes well next week.

For those who are seeking to get their I-693 Supp completed in the US prior to AoS filing: When you contact a Civil Surgeon's office, make sure you explain that it is the I-693 Vaccination Supplement that you want signed off, not the I-693 itself (this tends to trigger the "oh, we can't complete the I-693 without a full medical" response). All it involves is the doctor transferring the details from the DS-3025 to the I-693a and signing it. If you get any further vaccinations (the Varicella is not available in the UK, and HPV isn't always provided before you leave), get details of them in writing, stamped by the medical practice involved and put a copy of it in with your I-693 Supplement (it's often referred to as an I-693a).

Really hope this helps - it's a pain in the butt trying to sort it all out when you're assembling your AoS package. :)

The I-693A is an old form. That's why the link is no longer valid. It all changed with medicals June 1 or later. The vaccination portion is now a part of the "new" I-693. The TB test is a new requirement for AOS for the same June 1 or later medicals, but not for getting your K visas. Panel physicians in the foreign countries are not instructed to do the TB test. A Civil Surgeon in the US can transcribe your immunizations from the DS-3025 onto the "new" I-693, but many say they won't without doing the medical over again.

Just got back from my medical, wow that was quick

Got to Knightbridge doctors in Bond Street a bit early as I needed the bathroom ha ha

As I walked in a voice sad come to the second window which I did and was asked for my completed form, passport, vaccination records and photos and then told to go to the waiting room

Few minutes later I was handed another form to fill in and as you all know by now more of the same as the initial form

Then went for my xray

Back to another waiting room

Then the doctor came to get me

Sat me down asked a few questions like have you ever lived in a house where someone had TB, asked about the times I was hospitalized and if I have any problems since the operation and if I took any medication or had mental probs (did not tell him that I was going cuckoo from the visa application)

He then weighed me, measurered me, made me read a sight chart and I was allowed to wear my glasses, took my blood pressure, gave me a blood test, checked ears and throat, asked if I examined my boobs and then told me to get dressed it was all over

I was suprised as I did not have to show my private bits as I thought that you had to, might be coz there was no nurse available and it was a male doctor

Got dressed went back to the waiting room, told to go to the 2nd window and handed my vaccination records to hold on to for the States and the most painfull thing paid £180.

Dont think I was there for more than 20 mins

oh I did loose my bra from the waiting room to the doctors office so had to run around in my gown looking for it ha ha

Not a bad experience except paying for it just before Xmas think of all the good stuff I could have spent the money on !!!!!!!
