Hi all. A quick question. I sent my AOS paperwork July 27. Can anyone tell me just how long it usually takes to get a return notice from them that they received it . I have the card from the Post Office, Chicago signed for the envelope July30

Thanks

If you filed for AOS shouldn't your profile now say AOS Pending not K-1?

Anyway, it takes a few weeks to get the receipt notice, longer considering the flood of paperwork that they got from people filing before the deadline. Some are getting bio-metrics appointment letters before the NOA1 for I-485. Next thing to watch for is the check being cashed.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I updated my timeline the day I sent the AOS application It still shows in there AOS date filed 2007/07/27 My timeline is right up to present. I don't know why it shows K-1 should it not?

I sent mine on the same day as you and am waiting for NOA 1 for the EAD and AOS.

Thanks Stacey. I was just wondering whether I had something done wrong with the forms. Have to keep waiting I guess

You can change that by clicking "My Controls" and the Edit Profile Info, then further down that page change immigration status.

I noticed the timeline, excellent details!

I filed on the first. They're experiencing a backlog, and last Friday most of the 7/24-7/25 submissions were cashed, but no NOA1's yet. (I find it ridiculous that we're adding a month to C.'s inability to work because our receipt date will be in late August rather than early August because they can't hire someone at $11 an hour to type in a form and put a check in a bag for the bank, but why the hell would they care if immigrants go bankrupt?)
