American Consulate RECIFE Brazil (em portugues tambem)

Greetings everyone,

American Consulate RECIFE Brazil

My wife is from the NE of Brazil, Paraiba to be exact.

I have located a Consulate in Recife which is just two hours away from her making it much more convenient than any of the other consulates (RJ, SP, Brasilia, etc).

After searching through VisaJourney I can not find any timelines or messages that have used the consulate in Recife.

Can anyone lend any information on this consulate, Specifically:

1. Can it be used from start to finish for K3?

2. The police Search downloabable forms refer to Rio de Janeiro, should I replace this with the address for Recife consulate? or is Recife just a remote site that fowards documents to Rio de Janeiro?

btw:

I tried the easy way, calling the Consulate to get the information directly, however, as I expected the Consultate telefone number just yeilds a looping series of telephone voice messages.

Eu encontrei um consulado/embaixada em Recife que tem somente duas horas dela que faz o muito mais conveniente do que alguns dos outros consulates (RJ, SP, Brasilia, etc.).

Após procurarar com VisaJourney eu não posso encontrar nenhumas timelines ou mensagens que usarem o consulado em Recife.

Lata qualquer um ajuda com informação neste consulate, especificamente:

1. Pode ser usado do começo ao revestimento para K3?

2. Os formulários electronico (pdf) das certificacao das polícias (do estado e federal) consulto a rio de Janeiro, devo eu substituir isto com o endereço para o consulate de Recife? ou é Recife justo um local remoto esse originais dos fowards a rio de Janeiro?

you must go thru rio.........that's why you won't find anything about recife.

I just found out as well, that only Rio handles our situations.

It's a bit inconvenient, isn't it? My husband is from Amazonas so imagine the trip he had to make...

I just got the answer back from the consulate are Recife, pretty much a copy of what has been said here. The reason is there is that the immigration officer is only stationed in Rio, and without him/her none of the other consulates have the capability.

In anycase a testament to this site. The friends who answered above gave me feedback nearly three times as fast and just as accurate as the official source.

Now maybe we can turn some lemons into lemonaide:

Since some of you have been through the process can you recommend the safest hotel which is nearest to the consulate. Also average times and prices from the airport to such hotel. If this gets complicated my wife will get nervous and it will cost me a round trip flight to Rio to keep her calm.
