Los ANgeles is a Cultural Mosaic, with comes crowds, expensive real estate/ rent, Heavy Traffic.

The benefits are of course the diversity, and ideal weather year round.

As others mentione dit is very expensive to live in Los Angeles, Orange County suburbs are safe and nicer option than La County.

If you are from KC then os Angeles will be a huge change in cost and daily lifestyle.

I beleive the schools systems out here fall into both neds of the spectrum Top notch schools and bottom of the barrel you have to be sure your in the right area OC schools are excellent so is the Palos Verdes or Torrance Ca. School districts. However both areas are quite expensive.

Condos run from 400- 500K be sued to getting less real estate for your money but be ready to see more retunr on investment.

If you have a young family you may not want to be driving many hours on the ropad to & from work so keep that in mind. I live 7 miles from my work and it takes me nearly 30 minutes to get to & from work.

Overall Los Angeles is a great place to live and in the right areas great place to raise a family.

do your homework and look at all your options.

Diddy Riese is an ice cream/cookie joint next to the UCLA campus - famous for its cheap treats :) next time you are in Westwood you should hit it up :)

Beckham? Well - I live in Maryland at the moment, and thought about getting tickets for the DC United v LA game. I'm glad I didn't. Beckham is a set piece guy, and that's all well and good, but if he has a crappy team around him (and LA Galaxy are pretty darn crappy) he won't be able to do all that much by himself - or certainly not as much as the media has been hyping him up to be able to do. My husband (the USC) played soccer at a fairly competitive level here in the US, and even he was wincing and had to turn off the TV at all the fundamental errors the teams were making.

Ahhh California - I just hope I get a nice attorney job out in the Bay Area, that would be totally sweet!
