I have a case of 24M and 54 F (US citizen). We have been living together for the past 5 months, and have been together for 4 months before that. We love each other, and her family and kids also know about me! I have been thinking of getting married to her so we can move into a bigger house and plan our future together! The only thing that’s holding me back is our age difference and cultural norms (South Asian), which will scrutinise us a lot more. I know cases with Age gaps get approved if there's an age difference between an older man and a younger woman, whereas the latter doesn't go through.

She has stated multiple times that she loves me, and I do as well. We are on the same lease, gym membership, and Amazon accounts

She makes enough to qualify for the financial requirement, but I also can’t provide affidavits from my side because my friends and family are not on par with this.

Currently, I am in the United States with an F-1 visa, and I have graduated, but I am nearing my unemployment period because of this bad market! (This isn't the reason for marriage, but I am stating it.) I am hoping if we do get the I-485 receipt, I can take that to colleges that accept it, and can continue on my F-1 visa, thus I am not out of status, as some colleges accept the I-485 receipt.

We haven't filed anything yet. I am in such a mess, I have no idea what to do!

Does the USC older female want to marry you?

she should join the forum and correspond as those of us who have gone thru the age difference can answer her queries

if you returned to India and petition either K1 or CR1,  you face denials as family does not approve and she is past child bearing age

Hi!

Thanks for responding back, and surprisingly, I was just looking at several profiles and stumbled upon yours. We did discuss marriage at the very beginning of our relationship, and she did agree, but we didn't talk about it after that.

The other thing is that my family doesn't reside in India, we live in the Middle East, so I am not sure if this helps our case??? I wouldn't be returning back to India, but rather to the Middle East.

Same in any Middle East country ,past child bearing age, bene's family (and friends ) do not approve

your profile says India so, you would still follow same issues any Indian faces -no matter where you would interview outside the US

Our personal battle took over 5 years K1 in 2009 -denied finally visa issued in 2015

and my wife spent 10 months with me and my family in 5 trips

we have since then, adopted here in USA

Also check what this administration is doing about student visas as this is scary

Good list of red flags for marriage are below

My wife says need to talk to her as its not cheap, fast, or easy and she says 'really not cheap "

Bring her to VJ

Yes, she is well past her childbearing age, and my family and friends do not approve! I haven't even told my family because that's how scared I am. I do have Indian citizenship, so yes, I will face scrutiny! I am sorry your battle took so long! I hate it when Older men just get away with it! USCIS needs to increase their security! Did your family ever come around (husband's family). I will ask my partner if she wants to make an account here, and will update you guys accordingly.

Just to be sure, is your account managed by both of you? Cause I'd like to know who I am talking to, lol.

Your situation will raise significant questions   Very strong documentation and extensive knowledge of each other will be required to satisfy the officer that this is a genuine relationship and but primarily for immigrant purposes. Not too day off can’t be successful but it will be challenging. Good luck

It is approvals but will not be easy, one of those cases where I would recommend a component lawyer

We don't want a lawyer, as it can be very expensive, and most of the work is going to be paperwork. I do understand you're trying to say we need to have a lawyer to guide us better, but I have read many cases of lawyers not taking the case seriously and misfiling paperwork

This is the biggest red flag of all.

I said competent lawyer, last week Hacking had a case on his show of a big age difference and was talking about the biggest difference his firm had handled, yours is more.

Be ready to explain exactly what a 24 yo and a 54 yo have in common.  Be ready to explain how you cope with the cultural differences.  Step 1 is to get married.
