Traveling on an I'551 stamp

Hello guys!!

Has anyone traveled on an I-551 stamp since the trump administration?

 

I am from the caribbean islands and my spouse petitioned for myself and my daughter October 2024. My mom recently died in the caribbean islands and now I have to apply for the I-551 for my daughter and I so that we can for the funeral service. Will it be safe for us to re-enter the usa since it's a death and it's our first time travell while we await the AOS process?

An I-551 is a Green Card.  Perhaps you meant you are traveling on Advance Parole. I-512?

You said you are awaiting the AOS process? Did your husband petition you and your daughter on K-1/K-2 and you entered the US on those visas, married your husband and now are adjusting status? If so then you cannot get an I-551 stamp

Yes. I will be getting the stamp on my passport since I just applied for it and it's an emergency.

 

I did not apply for advance parole when I first applied for AOS

You cannot get an I-551 stamp until you are a legal resident (Green Card holder).  You can apply for emergency AP.

Entry back into the US is not guaranteed with Advanced Parole… it is up to the discretion of the Customs and Border Protection officer who you go to at passport control if they believe you are admissible

To the OP, if there is no reason for CBP to think you are inadmissible, you should be fine once you have your AP.

Please do fill your timeline in as well - it helps others, but also then when you ask questions people know what kind of case you have.
