Hi, so im a permanent resident here in the united states for almost 2 years now. i went back to west Africa to get married last month. i want to know the timeline for brining my wife to the US. ive read blogs and articles and it says a permanent resident can file i-130 for their spouse it just takes a long time. i can apply for citizenship in 2028. i'm hoping to start the process with my LPR status and hopefully elevate when i become a US citizen.

That would be the way to do it, probably being a Citizen will get it done.

Yep, file the I130 now, then after naturalization it should move from F2A to IR1, you may need to remind USCIS.

By that time, he'll be reminding NVC, not USCIS.  Petition approvals are the same timeline for LPRs as for US Citizens.  The extra wait is at NVC.
