I am trying to schedule an interview for my f1 visa

A question asks me to select the visa priority. The 3 options are (1) interview waiver, (2) previously refused, (3) regular.

Now I was refused a U.S. VISA (F1) way back in 2017. Now, since I was refused a VISA, should I select "previously refused"? However, it happened in 2017 -- almost 8 years back. I read online from people (and watched youtube videos) that "previously refused" should ONLY be selected if you were refused within 1 year -- like someone applying second time immediately after getting a refusal. If the refusal happened more than 1 year ago (in my case 8 years ago), we can choose regular.

Is that correct? Please someone knowledgeable respond, and let me know what to do.

So should I choose previously refused or regular?

only option is refuse US visa

you did not a US visa (regular)

u are not after waiver

I believe the question asks. "where you ever refused (denied) a US visa?"  that means ever

You must declare any previous refusals in any new applications. Failing to declare a previous refusal may be considered misleading information.

8 years doesn't matter.  Refused is refused.  Best to just declare and prevent any confusion.

And it doesn’t give you any kind of pop up or question mark to click on to clarify it? They normally have an explanation.

No, that's in ds160 you are thinking. There it asks to explain. I am talking about the website for interview scheduling. There it only gives those 3 options. Here's a screenshot:

Even though it was in 2017, that’s still the correct and honest classification Visa Refused. It won’t hurt you but misclassifying could.

  • Sep 8, 2021 = NOA 2 for I-129F (K1 Visa application)
