Hello, I am looking to find out how to read the Priority date for Family F3 request. The request is for my brother who falls in F3 category. So when I look at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2025/visa-bulletin-for-april-2025.html. I am confused as his NVC application shows Priority Date is Oct 2010. However, so I am trying to understand about it. The Visa Bulletin says they are at 01APR11 for F3 but as of the most recent email from them, it is waiting for interview to be scheduled. so did he miss something or am I misreading this table? it's been a while that i have looked into this priority date information. Also, i would appreciate if anyone can share their experience if someone had a recent interview  for F3. Thank you so much.

On that basis he is current and a visa is available.

Thank you for the quick response. So based on that, any idea on when he may get an interview scheduled? This is last update from NVC back in March:

"This notice is to inform you that your case for an immigrant visa is documentarily complete at the National Visa Center (NVC) and has been since 29-Oct-2024.
    - This means that NVC received all of the fees, forms and documents required before an immigrant visa interview. Your petition is waiting for an interview appointment. Thank you for your patience.

Your case will remain at NVC until an appointment is scheduled. Then, we will send it to the proper U.S. embassy or Consulate General.
    - We will notify the applicant, petitioner, and attorney (if you have one) when the appointment is scheduled."

Just trying to find out more info on this. My mom is unable to travel overseas to see him so we are hoping his interview is done soon and is approved. Her health is deteriorating and she is stressed about his application. We are looking to the option to try to meet with local senator or congressman's office to see if they will help expedite it due to her health issue.

Depends on the consulate. Some have no backlog and so the wait is only a month or two. Some have huge backlogs and there can be a 2/3+ year wait for an interview at those.

If you can share which one then hopefully somebody can help - you can also search timelines. It would be really helpful if you could share his timeline to help others too, thx.

Just found your previous thread. So looks like his PD became current at the end of last year? So assuming timelines haven’t moved much from the 7-8 months mentioned back then, he should get an interview fairly soon.

Probably no point in trying to expedite now but if you did want to then it’s NVC you need to ask - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/national-visa-center/immigrant-visas-processing-general-faqs.html#ivp7

Thank you. I believe it became current last year, have to check on that. As I said earlier today, the most recent update is the email from March. We just want to try to get it expedited but if he is to get his interview soon then it will be great. So if for some reason timelines move then it sounds like he may not get interview for another 7-8 months? We have consistently checking the CEAC website and watching for their emails.

Last time I checked (the thread above) it was 7-8 months so you’re well in to that. But you’ll need to check it again yourself.

Unless the category retrogresses then as long as the wait for an interview hasn’t got longer it should be fairly soon.

And please pay it forward and fill in your timeline!
