So far i have:

Letter from employer with start date, position, annual salary. (~400% over poverty for 1 person)

Letter from bank with open date (2002), average yearly balance, no NSFs, "open" status.

Copy of 2005 1040EZ

Copy of 2006 1040EZ

Copy of statement from stock broker

Concerns:

The Bank is giving me a hard time about giving up a total of all deposits for past 12 months. They want to know if printing statements for me will work and i can do with them as i wish. I guess it's too much work to add them all up.

Do i need tax transcripts or is a copy of the form i submitted okay?

Is there anything else HCMC will be looking for or will i have my bases covered?

I think you need W2s if you are submitting 1040s. If you submit tax transcripts, that can substitute for 1040s + W2s.

I just ordered 2004, 2005, and 2006 tax and account transcripts.

Thanks for the heads up!

Good move on the tax transcripts.

They hold a LOT more water than 1040s.

If you can sign up to put your bank accounts online you can print out all the statements you want.

You stated in another thread that you have a friend that has successfully navigated through the process. There is a great resource for what is enough. Also the guide here on VJ, as well as the instructions for the I-134 give you the requirements. Remember, the CO can only evaluate/weigh what they see. If in doubt, send it.

And remember, your income has to be over the poverty limit for 2, not 1. I'm sure you are still fine, but this is a process about the 2 of you. Unless she has children, then the family unit number increases.

Re: income and bank - W-2's along with returns and transcripts. Photocopies of statements ought to be fine.

Think like a CO, think Big Picture, get the pink slip!!!! It's worth it. :D

In addition to Anh-Map's comment,

Neverseen, My question to you is this: How can you prove to me that you will be able to support Tram financially, when she comes to America and how you can make me feeling warm and fuzzy that you will not put her up on Wel-fare?

Financially strong: You have a job that brings home tons of bacons (back that up with pay-stubs and employment letter)

Financially strong for a long time: show ITR's (income tax return) and W-2 for the past 3-6 years

Financially stable: Continue making the same or more money with next year raises and bonuses. (stock and bond don't mean much, especially if they are your 401K plan) CO and you both know you can't freaking cash it out without penalties from the IRS :)

Making warm and fuzzy feeling that you won't put her up for welfare: your signed and notarized I-134 (not really legally strong thou) but at least you promise them you won't :)

There you go! I can't tell you all tricks, because I forgot :) but Anh Map and others will chime in soon!

So far i have:

- Letter from employer with start date (2005), position, annual salary. (~400% over poverty for 1-2 people)

- Letter from bank with open date (2002), average yearly balance, no NSFs, "open" status.

- 1 year of Bank Statements including a total of deposits

- 2004, 2005, 2006 Tax transcripts showing ~200-500% over poverty each year.

- 2004, 2005, 2006 Tax account statements

- Pay Stubs showing ~400% above poverty

- Copy of statement from stock broker of stocks I am currently trading

- Obviously the filled out I-134 form

- 2006 W2's

I think this will be enough. I've been over poverty since I was about 17 or 18 years old. I'm currently sitting at ~400% above poverty.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Let me know if you think of anything else!!
