I don't know the past history with Charles. I also don't read every single topic that is posted. I have only read topics that Charles had posted in only a handful of times. Just about every one of those topics were light humored ones and there was NO devaluing MENA men or women in those posts. If there had been, I certainly would have spoken out against that!!

Gee, in the past day, I've been lumped into "addle-brained", "sexist" and now "a woman that needs male attention", simply because a) I get along with Charles and B) I don't know the history behind the disagreement. What??? I WILL NOT debate or "argue", if you will, with someone about an incident that I know nothing about. How can I, when I don't know the specifics of the discussion and what was said. I wouldn't do that to any of you! Now if someone provides a link to the entire discussion(s), I would like to know what was said.

And no Peezy, I did not see the obscene smiley that he posted in a response to you.

I have only been a member on VJ since May or June, I think. I had only started posting here for a few days when I happened into a "hornet's nest" of a discussion. I was called an "idiot" and various other insults. I had serious thoughts about checking out of this forum because of all the drama. It was only becaue of a couple of people that sent me PMs and explained how things "work" around here, that I decided to give it another try. I certainly don't expect everyone to agree with everything I say...not at all. But even in disagreements, I try my best to not devolve into name-calling...and that does happen on here quite often. It is for that reason that I tend to avoid some threads because of the "drama".

Allousa, Please donot take my comments of VJ and MENA personally. You were certainly the last person on my mind when i posted. I think you have the right to call me on my comments. (F)

It's cool. I really want to keep things "even-keel"...even with Peezy! I'm not here to disagree with anyone at all. Just wanted to set the record straight with the whole "Charles" deal. :)

I thought this thread was about VJ alumni...Hmmmm

Anyways, we are doing good busy with baby. He is almost one and we're planning his party.

Husband has adjusted well, he works nights and goes to school in the afternoon miss him since I don't see him much(maybe that's a good thing) When I have time to go online I do stop by and read some threads. I especially like to see WOM cheerleading thread she does a great job keeping us updated.

I wish all those waiting a speedy journey and those of you already together good luck with the adjustment period and much happiness!!!!

Hi Limah, I moved from Los Angeles and about the heat I feel like I'm in haven I really love hot weather, my energy is the sun. I suppose I have to get ready for the winter, I heard that it get very cold, is something I'm not looking forward, winter is not my season.

In what part of Las Vegas are you?.I leave very close to the Sahara hotel.

I live "very" close to the Sahara hotel, too! I am looking forward to the winters here only because I am 1000% sure it does NOT get as cold as Chicago does!

That I can take......

Limah

Pray with me Forrest! Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far. Far, far away from here..... Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far. Far, far away from here!

That is great, maybe one day we can meet, if you want send me a message I will love to meet a MENA member in person!!!

Hopefully we can meet and talk about our experiences with this visa journey, I think is always nice to talk to someone that is or has past or have a similar situation, because they can understand what you are talking about.

Hope I am not overstepping boundaries by adding to this thread, as I was not listed as one for whom information or updates was requested. Nevertheless, it has been a while sine I posted, so an update is more or less due.

As of two weeks ago, I have been living in Morocco for one year. Our daugther was born on July 8 and she is healthy, beautiful and a joyful addition to our family. I will return to work on October 1 and as my husband works evening hours, he will care for her during the day while I will care for her during the evening. Our 10 yr old son will return to school med-September and he is enjoying having a younger sister as he was an only for so long.

I will return to the states in December with the children to visit my family as they have only seen the baby in pictures and on the webcam. We are undecided (so far) as to whether or not we will apply again for a visa to the US. I love my job and our way of life here and have no pressing desire to return other than to visit. For now, life is good!
