Hello,

I have an interview next Monday and I got a message from USCIS saying: """

We have taken an action on your case

Sign in to your account to view your case status""" but can't see any changes! What does it mean?

Means nothing.

An officer may have opened case to read about it, and closed without taking any action.

You're definitely not the first to get those "ghost" updates. USCIS system is just glitchy.

It doesn't mean they have rejected my case because of typo?

No. You're overthinking. People received these messages in all sorts of cases. Try to meditate, or do something that relaxes you.

As much as you need to be prepared, careful and alert, stressing too much isn't worth it.

What helped me personally, is thinking that I'm just going to DMV 😃😃😃

I mentally prepared myself that I had a clean, straightforward case. That I will be granted citizenship. That this is a formality I have go through, like a visit to DMV to get a DL renewal.

You don't want to be too relaxed, but at the same time, this helped me to reduce anxiety.

If your N-400 interview has been scheduled, a decision would not take place until after the interview has been completed.  Good Luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thanks a lot. I also have a long period pending case for travel document since last Feb (14 months so far). But I don't see any changes there, either.

Thank you again.

Is it outside of normal processing times? If it is, try and raise a service request? It may not do much.

I'm chuckling...DPS in Texas is not a fun time and I wouldn't go there 🤣 But, you're right...going through this step equals obtaining this document.

Anyway, @Good4U, any time your case moves, those notices come up.  It could be the stack of cases for the interviewing officer was being prepared.  You can think of those action alerts kind of like a package from UPS or FedEx where it gets scanned every time it moves.  Your file is on the move until you and the interviewing officer meet face to face.  Nothing to panic about :)

Good luck in your interview🍀

I do appreciate your encouragement. I am trying to be relaxed. Thanks again.

Truth!!!  Thankfully, I was finally able to update wife's address change online.  Texas DPS is strict about requiring Green card holders to come in to the office for EVERYTHING.
