Hello Team,

I filed I-130 petition for my spouse on Dec2023.  Petitioner is me & my spouse as Beneficiary.

I-130 petition just got approved today on 03Apr2025. After almost 16 months.

Approved petition states that as per petitioner request, we have sent to its U.S. Department of State National Visa Center (NVC), 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth, NH.

The NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions that need consular action.

My Spouse is in India & so not sure if I did any mistake while filling. It should have been sent to India - US consulate...... right for the Visa interview?

Also, I want to understand what the next steps for the Visa Interview for her in India are.

Could you please let me know if the US Consulate in India will contact my Spouse & will schedule the Visa interview?

Once she goes for the Visa interview with the approved I-130 then what Visa will she get to enter in US?

Thank you for all your help & guidance on this!

It gets sent to NVC, where your spouse will apply for a visa online using form DS-260, and you’ll fill out the sponsorship form (I-864) among other things.

Once they review and determine all the documents are in order, they hold it until a spot opens up to interview in Mumbai, which can take a very long time.

You need to follow the official guidance, it’s all set out on there - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing.html

And she’s applying for an immigrant visa.
