New Poll Shows Trump Support INCREASING After Tariff Announcement

 

Donald Trump is unpopular, and his policies are opposed across the board by Americans.

You can be forgiven if you believe that.  After all, that's the message that's been hammered home by most major media outlets since Trump took the oath of office for the second time.

Following "Liberation Day," the left began to write the obituary of the Trump administration.  That was April 2.  Despite the best efforts of the media and Democrats, the American people aren't so sure about the failure of the second Trump administration.

According to a DailyMail.com/J.L. Partners survey of over 1,000 registered voters, Trump's popularity has actually increased four percentage points, from 49% to 53%.  It's up 13 points since March 7 among those 18-29.

HUGE:  The European Union Just Caved on Trump's Tariffs

 

While the left and their media allies urge panic over Trump's tariffs and the market response, reality is telling a different story — countries are folding fast.  Now even the European Union is signaling it's ready to deal.  On Monday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU is open to negotiations with the United States and has proposed eliminating tariffs on industrial goods altogether.

At a press conference in Brussels, von der Leyen underscored the damaging effects of the current tariffs and made it clear the EU is prepared to negotiate.  "These tariffs come first and foremost at immense costs for U.S. consumers and businesses, but at the same time, they have a massive impact on the global economy," she announced.  "Especially hard-hit are the developing countries.  And this is a major turning point for the United States."

Life is full of unintended consequences.  Global trade policies are often rife with them.  Politics and trade deals generate untold numbers of side effects and unanticipated problems.

Case in point: Alaska's fisheries.  A large part of the Great Land's economy is dependent on commercial fishing, notably salmon and pollock.  These wild-caught fish, of course, have to be processed for market, and that requires not only filleting but the time-consuming detail work of removing "pin" bones.

So, Alaska salmon are generally caught, headed and gutted here, and then sent to China for the remaining processing, following which they are sent back to the United States, and now those Alaska-caught fish are subject to the heavy tariffs the Trump administration has placed on China.  [...]

I would assume "Canadian Geese" will be declared a terrorist organization since they are proven to have previously downed US civilian airliners using suicide attacks.  I would think these "Canadian Geese" would be deported to El Salvador along with any other Canadians who might have suspicious geese affiliations or sympathies.

Trump's big move:  It wasn't bungling.  It wasn't 4D chess.  It was being flexible enough to get what he wanted

 

As a week of intense tariff mania ends and a new period of negotiations begins, President Donald Trump has 1) started a trade war with China, imposing a 125% tariff on all imports from that country; 2) imposed a 10% global baseline tariff on the world; 3) imposed tariffs on steel, aluminum, some autos, and auto parts; and 4) paused for 90 days a long list of higher "reciprocal" tariffs on many countries.

And here's the kicker:  After all that, the world, in the words of many analysts, is "breathing a sigh of relief."  Trump has imposed a tariff regime that would have horrified much of the political and financial establishment just a few months ago, and now, they are happy that he did not do more.
