Hello everyone,

I'm Mathias, 21, from France. My dream is to work in the US for a few months since a magnificent 9 days trip I did in 2023 to meet a WWII veteran in NC.

I discovered lately that there is a visa that I can ask for, the H2B, since I work in restaurants since 3 years + 1 year in the construction, here in France, and have to bigger graduation that a highschool diploma.

I would love to find a sponsor for the 1st half of fiscal year 2026, between october 202 and April 2026.

I have some questions :

Is it too late to start searching a Sponsor ?

Is California a state with a high seasonnal work demand during winter ?

How can I find job offers from H2B sponsors ? Are they reliable websites or companies too help me in my search ?

Thanks for your help

Mathias

There are a lot of H2bs near where I am, the Ski resorts bring them in and I am sure that includes catering.

I think the Walmart I was in this afternoon also does, but they Al seem to be from somewhere in Africa.

The City Market does as well.

Also look at a J1.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for replying.

What I don't understand is that on the official USCI job offers list for H2B, there is only agricultural jobs and they're all for summer 2025 (April-september),no jobs for later (winter season).

Anybody here knows some way to find job opportunities with H2B sponsor ?

Thanks

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a sponsor for an H2B visa in the United States (preferably California) for the 2025-2026 winter season.

The problem is that the few job offers I find are for this summer (many are even for dates that have already passed), and I can't find anything for the October 2025-April 2026 season.

So what are your tips for finding H2B job offers? Approach companies at random? Ask on paid sites? Look on Indeed?

Thanks everyone!

What official job offers list?

I’d say you’re too early to be searching for a sponsor for a casual job. Most businesses won’t be looking that far ahead, particularly with the US economy in flux, they’ll probably be waiting to see what happens in the next few months.

Good luck.

Ski resorts would be obvious
