Hi there! I submitted my I-130 back in February 2024, I was reading up about information about how you should write “deceased” in the option on the I-130A for the beneficiary’s parents place of residence if one or both of the parents has passed away. I didn’t really think about it at that time and assumed they wanted the place of last residence, which I did put down. My husbands mother passed away back in 2014. Is this going to cause any issue and I need to correct it, and if so how can I do that? Or, is it okay to update it when we fill out the ds-160? Thank you. 🙏🏻

Simply type the word Deceased as their place of current residence, both the city and country.  No need to correct it.  This is a non-issue.

We already submitted it back in February 2024 with the city and country of her last residence, so I don’t need to send any information to USCIS to update it?

No, but when asked again, on the DS260 enter Deceased as the location.
